Oh you are a lifesaver. Thank you so much. I am using my microphone right now. So I can tell you that if you ever need to demonstrate anything while you are on your text messaging app just message yourself so then you're not showing anybody's sensitive information but in that aspect it may show your personal information but just a heads up same thing if you ever need to save something you can also send it to yourself through text message so just type in your own number or just send it to yourself through Facebook Messenger and it will come up on there. That is how I actually save a lot of the videos or things that I want to keep yet don't want to keep them in a list on KZbin or something.

honestly i dont know, for me it was the fact that i was not using a lock screen and i found that if the screen was off and you double tapped the screen it would wake it up and if this condition occured in my pocket my barely touching my leg through the pocket liner it would make all sorts of fun little changes, good times

"Counterintuitive" is absolutely right, Jason! I was at my wit's end trying to solve this. It was working fine one day, and then "What the heck happened? Where is that strip with the mic that's been missing for about a week?!" Like others, I have spent hours in research, verifying my settings (which can also be challenging because different Androids/ages have different settings/layouts). I was just about to give up when your video popped up in a small window. TG I didn't hit the "x" to close it! This solved my problem, and I am grateful that you shared it. Thank you so much!! I don't know why the strip suddenly disappeared several days ago, but suspect a software update. When I checked that as one of the troubleshooting suggestions, almost instantaneously I got a message that I was at the current version.
