Bonnie Schultz is a missing person who was last seen leaving the Time Out Lounge in the area of 62nd Street and Allisonville Road in Indianapolis, Indiana at 4:00 a.m. on July 3, 1997.
Witnesses told police Bonnie left alone in her blue, 1990 four-door Mercury Sable station wagon with an Indiana License plate, 99G9645.
This documentary brings you alongside Adventures With Purpose's search for Bonnie, following clues about Bonnie's last known location, where she lived, and the possible route she may have been taking where she may have had an accident over two decades earlier.

CASE DETAILS
In July of 1997, the Schultz family lived in the 4400 block of Clayburn Drive on the northwest side of Indianapolis.
The night she disappeared, Bonnie had a conversation with her husband Rick about marriage problems. After 26 years of marriage, Bonnie wanted a divorce.
She left alone, driving her car.
She never returned to her family's residence and has not been seen again.
Her blue four-door 1990 Mercury Sable station wagon with the Indiana license plate number 99G9645 has never been located.
When Bonnie didn't return home, her husband, Richard, initially assumed she had decided to stay over at a coworker's home.
He reported her missing at 5:00 p.m. the following day, when she still hadn't arrived home.
Bonnie and Richard had been married over twenty years by the time of her disappearance, and they have two children together. She had been a stay-at-home mother until shortly before her disappearance when she took a part-time job as an inventory clerk.
Richard stated they had been having marital problems and had discussed the possibility of divorce, but he didn't believe she would have simply left without explanation.
Bonnie had been having an affair with the male coworker she met with the night she disappeared.
He and her friend stated she was very upset when she first came to the Time Out Lounge.
She told them she had had a bad fight with Richard and he was refusing to consent to a divorce.
She calmed down as the evening progressed and was fine by the time she left to go home.
Bonnie's boyfriend passed a polygraph in relation to her case, but Richard's polygraph indicated deception.
Investigators believed at first that Bonnie had left of her own accord to escape her marriage.
They now think foul play was involved in her case.
There has been no activity on her bank accounts or cellular phone since she vanished. Her disappearance remains unsolved.
AWP comes into the investigation looking for possible accident locations and/or suicide.
While there is always a chance of foul play in these cases, AWP focuses on the where, not the how, who, or why.
Hug the ones you love for you never know when it might be the last time you see them.

I understand police have a job to investigate, but I really wish they would think twice before throwing around accusations. The phone call about Josh's experience since his mom's disappearance was heartbreaking. If the police would have taken a second to have some empathy before accusing a kid who was TWELVE at the time, maybe Josh would have lived with a little less guilt all this time...

It's always shocking to me when y'all pull up to a seemingly peaceful boat ramp, and immediately find multiple cars. I know some at ramps might just be bad drivers backing in trailers, but it always blows my mind. Makes me think about the places I go, how many bodies am I innocently boating over?

It definitely feels suspicious how she told her husband she wanted a divorce.. then boom she's gone. Then he left town with the kids not too long after she disappeared, along with failing that polygraph. But when there is alcohol use while driving involved, anything is possible. Perhaps she didn't go home, maybe she went somewhere to think, or to the boyfriends house. I definitely suspect foul play on this one. Too many coincidences.

Something to be aware of about Indy is how much the surrounding suburbs have changed over the last 10-15 years. There has been a ton of new housing and growth and you might want to find an older map to see if any of the ponds were more secluded at the time of her disappearance (or had other boat ramps which have been taken out).

Look at what happened to EVERY SINGLE KZbinR who got caught up with tv: they are unhappy, frustrated and hate it. They have signed contracts that take away their every right to do what they are doing the way they are doing it. Actually I lived near Broad Ripple in the late ‘90’s and it appears very similar to what I remember. It was totally developed at that time, very popular artist type of community, with the river winding its way thru it. The river was very popular recreational area because it doesn’t have a strong current so it is appropriate for paddling, tubing or swimming.

Indiana issues licenses by county, all vehicles in that county will start with the same numbers. The numbers go by the alphabetical order of the county. Marion county, Indianapolis, has too many cars to fit within its designated number 49 so numbers 93-99 are used for counties that need overflow. 99 is a Marion county designation so a lot of cars in that area will start with 99.

you guys are amazing. i was reccommended this channel by a close friend and fellow diver, and why he reccommended it is actually a really sad but also incredible story. 8 years ago, a very close friend of mine went out to dive in a underwater cave that we frequented a lot when on vacation. he never came back. we wanted to go look for him and bring him home, but there had recently been earthquakes in the area, making such a search and rescue opperation incredibly dangerous. but after 1 and a half years later we got to start cleaning the tunnel out little by little, until after about the most of 3 years spent cleaning, we had finally cleared enough to enter and search. i trained for the most part of 2 of those years to prepare for the dive, as i personally wanted to go down there and bring him home. after i was done training and had gotten confimation i was ready, i suited up, got the tanks on my back and extras for when i got into the air bubble at the end of the tunnel. we had short-wave radios connected to our masks, so whenever i would come close enough to him, it would make a sound indicating a connected unit was nearby, which i used to find out if he was in there at all. after swimming for about 30 minutes and redirecting oxygen flow from one of the tanks to the main one i finally heard a ping from the radio, notifying me he was close. after 7 more minutes, i found him... floating up against the tunnel ceiling. his main tank had ruptured, causing him to lose all oxygen in a matter of seconds, so he suffocated... i had to take him to the end of the tunnel and get myself into the air bubble to attach a secondary tank so i could reach the surface again, so i left his body at the air-bubble entrance. after i attached the new tank i took off and got to swimming back up with him attached to my legs via a bungie-jumping rope, making sure to stop from time to time to adjust his position so he wouldnt get stuck on anything as well as myself. it was pitch-black when i got back up. i ignited a flare to notify my friends in the boat that i had returned, and soon heard the engine rumble and coming closer. when they saw me they were about to ask if i found him, until they saw he was there with me, but as you all know, he was dead. his sister, who was also onboard the boat cried hard when she saw him. they were left alone after their parents died when they were 12. they were twins. we burried him 3 weeks later... what you guys are doing is incredible, and i cannot state that enough. i'm an Aetheist, but i can't not say god bless you all, because you are doing gods work.

I have this on in the bg while I WFH and its the perfect amount of pace and interest that I'm following along but not overhyped with the dramatics of it. I’m kind of curious about something. In the past you had a challenge where a bunch of teams gathered at a body of water to see how many cars they could identify and remove. It wouldn’t help this family but wouldn’t a similar challenge help remove not only sources of pollution but create a cleaner river bottom so the next person who goes missing in the river might be easier to find because there would be fewer targets to search? I think you got three videos out of the last challenge, the fishermen in the area would love you ( you might even try including them in the challenge so that they would better learn how to use their sonar), and the families of future missing people might be able to get answers sooner ( not only because of the fewer targets but because the locals who boat those waters would be better at using the sonar they have but because they are better equipped to recognize if something new shows up in those water). What do you think?

Is it not common in the US to remove cars from rivers etc. by officials? 😳
@deadfirefighter
@deadfirefighter 2 жыл бұрын
@@d.rim.4275 Depends on the area but unless the vehicle is found soon after an accident during a primary search and recovery then generally not. Older vehicles are often left but since the new technology with sonar can find those vehicles much safer than having divers blindly searching for them it is faster and easier to find and remove older vehicles ( which can weep oil and other toxins for decades after they are dumped into the water). But those older vehicles can slow searches for potentially viable accident victims because you have to rely on divers to identify the vehicle involved in the recent accident since the sonar won’t distinguish between a car that’s been in the water a year and a car that went in five minutes ago.

Bonnie did not just leave her children and unalive herself by drowning. What all you males underestimate, is a mother’s love for her children. It is not often women unalive themselves by drowning and certainly not a mother with young children. I am a psychic, I suspected foul play the minute I started this video. I am 100% convinced that she never left her kids willingly. I believe her husband killed her. I do not think her remains will be found as they are scattered.. She was originally placed not very far from where she lived. Time has scattered her remains, but her soul has NEVER left her children. She is watching over them. Her remains are just a used vehicle, she asks of them not to bother to find them as her remains is not her, her love, their memories together, her laughter, THAT is her, and that can never disappear or be buried. No matter how many people disrespect you or your work on the channel, at the end of the day you guys are doing the work that nobody else is willing or able to do, and actually producing results by bringing closure to families. I think that these armchair divers should either shut up, or go out and do the same thing as you're doing and let their actions speak for themselves. But they can't do it because they find it easier to judge you guys from the safety and anonymity of a computer than to actually walk up to you and your crew and say it to your face. They can't do it because they will quickly run into the issues with logistics and finances and handling the relationships with the authorities / families involved. All of it is all too easy to hand wave away, as if they could somehow do better. These people living in their own fantasy world don't deserve to judge you guys.

Foul play, husband, jealousy, rage. It's really terrible for the cops to guilt, and pressure a young boy regards to his mother, while there is no evidence he had anything to do with her disappearances, to where it still haunts him today. Doug, I think you're on the right track. These things happen far too often, and this case seems a likely candidate for that type of scenario. In that case, one of the closest places that he could have dumped the car and walked home, is just between W 86th, along Michigan Road, and I465, just at that off ramp area. There's a pond back in what looks like an industrial spot, which back then looks like it would have been pretty quiet, and could have just run the car right into the pond off the shore. Looks easily accessible.

Heres my take: I dont believe that foul play occurred unless the husband failed the polygraph about whether she came home that night then went back out. Near the end of the video, you guys are spot on about there being tons of water but the other thing is you keep saying "too industrial" or "too much foliage" which may not have been there back in 1997, hell some of those little ponds may not have been there in 1997... being that you found Jan Shupe Smith in a retention pond only 18" under water you/we know that anything can happen. I think the first thing ya need is a 1997 Atlas to see what roads did and didnt exist, then you have to think about what the EASIEST route a drunk person may take, it may be way longer to get home but drunks tend to try to stay on wide roads OR completely desolate roads. You guys are awesome, keep up the excellent work! If anybody I know ever goes missing, I'm calling yall first. You clearly have more passion and drive than most of the Detectives on these cases... unless they are stopped by red tape, which is even more BS and frustrating.

You all work so hard to help bring closure to so many families that may never have had it and make it possible for them to be able to bring their family members home to lay them to rest.If ever I’ve desired to support anything in my life it would have to be for you and what you do for others.I don’t have a lot of money, but if/as I have any at all to spare, I would love to send it your way to help support what you do.I hope and pray that I’m never in a situation like your families in need are, but if I ever were to be, it would ease my heartache some to know that someone as caring and thorough as you guys are, were trying to help me find my loved one. Thank you for spending so much of your time and resources to try to help these families. There is a special place in heaven for people like you. May God truly bless you for what you do.🙏🏻❤️

I grew up in Indianapolis, left before this happened. White River was a dumping ground. Countless cars, bodies and who knows what else has been found in there. We always knew not to swim there, fish there or go around it, especially downtown. Lots of gang and drug activity always there. Now over 20 years later for me who knows what it is like but not shocked you found 6 cars. Could not pay me to jump in the White River, if I fell in I would go to the ER it is so nasty.
