Selene Delgado is a real missing person case from Mexico, but that picture that's associated with her isn't her, it's actually a sketch of murderer Derrick Todd Lee. It goes like this: -Selene Delgado really was a missing person in Mexico in the 1990s, though her records appear to have been lost (an unfortunately more common phenomenon with Mexican police forces than you'd think) -a hoax of Selene Delgado appearing in everyone's friends list happened in 2020, this was a viral marketing campaign (seemingly) by Channel 5 of Mexico who originally made the missing person announcement, but it was a fake account with privacy settings manipulated so it APPEARED to be friends with everyone, but it wasn't actually -the Derrick Todd Lee sketch was used as part of a video claiming that Selene Delgado never existed and was a composite photo made from merging many faces together, the KZbinr claimed Derrick Todd Lee's sketch resembled Delgado's face and that it was part of the composite. I don't really think she's fake tbh, I think she was a real person, because there's really nothing out of place about her ACTUAL photo. I think Channel 5 are tasteless scumbags and police were incompetent or corrupt, but not enough to concoct a fake person entirely. Just enough to capitalize on the infamy of an unsolved case.

My auntie went missing in the 90s. Her clothing and body parts were found on a pig farm. A serial killer had brutally abused then fed women to his pigs. It’s affected my entire family and even my life despite her passing before my birth. My point? These are REAL people who lived REAL lives. Their family is left broken, wondering what happened until the day they die. Their cases deserve respect, at the VERY LEAST, accuracy. Comparing true tragic stories to “fun” and mystery movies is weird, sorta insensitive. Especially when you got multiple cases and their details incorrect. Some of these cases don’t even belong in the unsolved category. It seems like you didn’t put the work in you should have to get the proper details either. Just a bit disappointing overall.

I’m thinking the extent of his research maybe watching other peoples videos on cases - by doing that he doesn’t the most updated information about it. He’s got a good voice for this but he just needs to tweak a few things.

People vanishing hits me differently compared to missing person cases in today's time. No one knows what happened to them and we didn't have the technology at the time to find any clues for said vanished. Just like you said it's very captivating to look into, but also makes me fear going vanished as well especially since I'm afraid of darkness and being alone. Great job with this iceberg.👍

Hey mate! I really enjoy your videos. One thing I would really recommend would be to make sure you know proper pronunciation of some words. For viewer enjoyment, it can very much affect your credibility. Sometimes, when something is under-researched in terms of mispronunciation or in terms of detail, especially when we're talking about IRL stories, viewers may get annoyed, put off or may move on altogether. As someone who really enjoys the vibe of your content, I'd strongly recommend taking the extra handful of minutes for thorough research. For pronunciation, Wikipedia and Google's Dictionary often have a button that will pronounce the word properly for you. When making a video and reading your source material, maybe keep some paper on-hand and write down anything you're not sure about. I do that for my academic research, and it's a great help. Have a good one!

He tried buying a statue from the tribe earlier in the year and because they were offended by this, they decapitated him and cannibalized his remains. Incorrect, the tribes in that region believe in blood sacrifice if their own lose their lives. An earlier foreign party had killed a tribe member and though Rockefeller arrived later and separately, the tribe reached the agreement that he must be sacrificed to atone that prior death. The tribal leadership debated this and many didn’t want it to happen and reportedly some of those involved directly with his murder didn’t want to take part and feared retribution. These tribes abandoned these customs in the years following.

I'm at 40 minutes and had to stop there. I offer this only as ConCrit. These are real people, where some of them are more than likely dead, and knew terror most of us never will before someone hurt/killed them. Trying to keep humor in it "for a youtube video" on something so heavy is really disrespectful and using video game footage/music for it just adds to that. A lot of other channels manage to keep it digestible and respectful at the same time when covering this stuff. Their lives are your content in this, try to give them more respect and not deliver it like you're dropping video game facts/playing a game in the future.

22:35 For "Selene Delgado López", you only pronounced Selene tbh; you pronounce the "e"s not as the english e, but as the spanish e, which sounds like the first half of the english "a", like in the word "Set", just a bit softer. "-lene" follow the same pronunciation, and you pronounce the whole thing through (not as "Seleen"). You also did great with "Servicio de La Comunidad", though you said "Servico"; in spanish, you'd pronounce "-cio" as "see-o" (the english "see", and both parts in one go), the "-o" is like how you'd say it in "or" (unlike "no" or "so"). I have legit had nightmares based around the top two pics from the thumbnail.
