@@mrbruh1916 It definitely takes time to get used to them. I really had to learn to stop always holding forward and to feather tapping forward near walls to control the falling and not grab when I don't mean to.

Thank you! Eric here (the arranger) - It means a lot to me that you mentioned the transitions! Probably the trickiest part of making this chart work was deciding which song to use in each area, and how to make them smoothly transition from one to another without being jarring or having awkward tempo changes. Trent (our drummer) lays down his drum tracks in a single take before anyone else records, so it needed to be clear enough for him to play through on his own. I was very happy with how they turned out! Thanks for listening :)

Thanks so much! Yeah, I was convinced it was over when that Vampire started jumping around me with 1 HP. We wanted to make sure we captured our own footage for the medley, but it needed to be fast enough to sync with the music without too much fast-forwarding, so I was heartbroken as this run was at a good pace. Thankfully it all worked out in the end (somehow!?)

Eric (arranger / guitarist / gameplay footage) here! I've been recently trying to clear 7-99 in Spelunky 2. I think when I finally succeed (record is currently 7-56), I'll do a Cosmic Ocean medley. The tricky thing will be deciding which path to go - Volcana/Jungle? Tide Pools / Temple? Should be a blast

@@missingNoVancouver speaking as someone who's done it before, with a best like that you're well on your way! i'd personally recommend jungle to tide pool to maximize the amount of resources and have an easier time keeping the ankh. best of luck and i hope you make it soon 🙏

@@PieBathBob Thanks for the advice! I've been doing Volcana / Temple simply for the alien compass. I've gotten good at Vlad's Cape skip so I can save my Ankh for the ocean - I'm really bad at finding the exit in the ocean when the Jellyfish is coming in the larger maps, so the compass is a huge help currently. I do love Jungle / Tide Pool / clone gun however... It's always a toss up!!

In a way, they serve different purposes? Spelunky HD is non-stop bangers, Spelunky 2 is more atmospheric. Especially in the cosmic ocean, the audio approach of HD wouldn't have worked. I appreciate them both for how they compliment the games themselves.

I’m arranging it currently - I successfully completed Cosmic Ocean 7-99 with the eggplant crown last year so we’re going to use that footage and include all the themes, including eggplant world. I expect we’ll get around to recording and editing the video by spring! 🎉 Our keyboard/trombone player is currently working on a cruise ship but he’ll be back in town around then 😊

It's coming! Our guitarist is busy arranging a cosmic ocean medley (after his successful 7-99 with the eggplant crown). It's a trickier one to arrange with all the sparse and atmospheric tracks, but it's slowly coming along.

But the real question is, how many restarts were required to be blessed by that RNG? Funnily enough, Eric (our guitarist, arranger of this chart, and horrible Guy cosplayer) captured footage from 2 successful hell runs before realizing he had to do a 3rd run because his pace was too slow and the footage had to be fast forwarded to an unenjoyable amount to line up with the recording. So he kept speedrunning Hell runs until he finally got a good seed and completed on a pace that worked well for the video!
