My first Missio experience was with Everybody Gets High. I initially eschewed the whole savagely psychedelic vibe of the song, but then I read Matthew Brue's backstory and goddamn all his music suddenly made so much more sense. Everybody Gets High still wasn't my vibe, but it took on a whole other meaning after a couple of listens. But now I'm listening to this, and I can positively say that I'm having goosebumps every single time I listen to this song. Through this, I can suddenly understand Matthew's struggle with depression and drugs, and it gives me such high respect for the duo. This song itself is an emotion of its own, one that people can truly appreciate only if they've struggled with their vices, that infernal internal battle with that face in the mirror.
