I am honored to have 1 on Canine Companion first group of dogs to come out of the prison training program. I know the inmate has gotten out, has good job now. I’m proud to say Canine Companion & my service dog has help provide independent for myself & her inmate trainer. So blessed.

This has to be the greatest program ever. The knowledge that you're attempting to train service dogs for the blind and the cripple is beon rewarding. They should open up the doors on the kennels for this program instead of euthanizing.

I'm waiting on my "Call" to start my team training, I can't wait to get my independence back. Please tell these people THANK YOU for all their hard work. As a soon to be recipient their work is very much appreciated, making not only our lives better but hopefully theirs, too!!

This brought tears to my eyes. Inmates are people, and with a little empathy, guidance, and trust with responsibility, they can really grow. I was so touched when he said he was given a sense of purpose and identity. At the end of the day, aren't we all looking for that too? Thank you for providing this program for both the inmates and dogs. This video is also really well produced and I hope to see more in the future.

That is a really nice program. It would also be awesome if they had a program that had the inmates raise dogs for the soldiers ho come back from war and have ptsd. Having more programs like that to help veterans would be great. The waitlist is so long for the vets. Having an emotional support animal would help them a lot!!!

I want to get involved. Every prison facility needs this. The worst thing we can do as a society is treat humans like animals and then release them into the world. But if we truly want to rehabilitate them, we need to show them that they can express compassion and empathy and the best way to do this is with an animal. Giving them this sense of purpose will change them forever. So if we really want to rehab our fellow man we need to do more of this. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I just loved this so much. Gave me so much hope.

This program is wonderful on so many levels. Animals give so much to humans. They are literally showing people who have had hard lives how to love and giving them the desire to contribute instead of just take.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PROGRAM!!!! I THINK THIS SHOULD BE IN MORE JAILS/ PRISONS. (EXCEPT FOR THE ONES THAT HAVE ABUSERS) IT SHOWS HOW MUCH AN ANIMAL CAN CHANGE A PERSON'S LIFE WITH ONE SMALL ACT OF KINDNESS.

...so not only can we find shelter n attention for these dogs, but we are actively rehabilitating people? Cmon... this easily needs more funding.
