Another great one JT! Also, when you started comparing Rhake to Apex, couldn't help myself and visioning that Apex in MCB! That would look sick in my opinion! Anyway, have a great weekend buddy!

Quick question about the pocket you talk about at 11:35 (your favorite pocket). You say you put your iPad in there. Would you mind telling me which iPad you have and the size? I was looking at the specs of the Rhake, and it says that pocket is only supposed to fit a 10-inch iPad, but it seems quite a bit bigger than that. Perhaps it's just my eyes playing tricks on me. I'm trying to figure out if my 11-inch iPad Pro will fit. Thanks!

Great review! I agree with you! I’m using this bag for more than three years. Exactly the same. Super well made. And this is the best comfortable backpack that exists in the world.

The Rhake has been on PList for quite a while. I’d like to get the VX version, but it’s been sold out for ages. Use case would be the tough part for me on this bag. I have a suit and tie job, so carrying this daily to work isn’t going cut it. Weekend bag I suppose…
@jtinseoul70412 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I completely get that. I have that type of job too, but in Korea it's a bit of a different vibe with that stuff. The Apex still does a better job at that, for sure. Even a black Goruck looks more the part at my office. I had the VX version with the VX liner but I still wanted the one in mcb with the load lifters. That was the P-lister haha.

Awesome video and great point about in not being a great travel bag. I basically only use the outside pockets and only use the ruck for a sweatshirt or other “might need” items. The laptop compartment on this bag is what I wish the axiom 24 had. Do you prefer this mcb to your axiom?

Great video! This bag was on my list also, but once I finally got it I could just not make it work with how I like to carry things so I ended up selling it. I still think it's one of the most unique and interesting designs out there and a must own, at least for a while, for any bag nerd.

Yeah, I can agree with this. I think for a certain person it might be perfect. For a bag nerd, it's almost a must try.

If you run two machines this is the best bag to run two full macbook pro setups. (I have my Corporate locked down machine and my freelance personal one. Or I'll put my ipad pro in the inside laptop spot.

I'm kinda thinking you just made that video for me Josh! Ok now man, I'm not selling my Rhake MCB with cobras, and I will get the Apex in Onyx. BTW, the Rhake as we have configured new is 465.00 USD. That load out comparison was fantastic! How are those Apex straps under load? MW has some magic in their straps and they are the most comfortable I've worn. Hope you are doing well bromigo!

man i might have to look to trade my 2021 mcb rhake for one with load lifters now. for whatever reason, this just puts a lot of strain on my lower back unless it lets the straps loosen up and let the bag hang really low. i actually swap out the cobra buckles for fidlocks. it just take some weight off and also the fidlocks makes it easier for more one hand operation. The internal lining on my bag is super sticky. at least half of the time it comes out if i pull anything from the bottom out. im waiting on Black Ember to bring back the WPRT insert in stock so i can purchase it. its basically a tote style insert with pockets to put stuff and keeps the stuff from sticking to the liner. only problem here is the WPRT insert has been sold out for over a year so i dont see it coming back anytime soon.
@jtinseoul70412 жыл бұрын
I don't find the lining on this one too sticky, but it's stickier than the VX lined one I had for sure. The load lifters are the reason this particular one was the one I wanted so badly. They aren't that common anymore, but it completely changed the bag for me.

Curious: how do you get away with wearing 20H"+ bags (not meant harshly)? Even 19" can be a killer for my short torso, especially if the bottom is too rigid and there are no load lifters. Are load lifters your savior? I know you're on the short side - maybe you have an inch more torso to play with? Being 5'6" and having a 17" torso, going beyond 18" long, a bag usually digs into a bad spot on my back (= pain), especially if the bottom is rigid/the frame sheet doesn't conform to my body. Comfort is key as I walk at least 50 blocks a day with pack, am carless, and public transportation has to be my friend. What's the most wicked comfy bag you can rec for EDC/with a padded, raised laptop compartment (Don't say GR2 26L, for me, best for travel. Great rec!). I've gone back to my TB Synapse 19 (16" long). It's "tight." The Rhake would swallow me. The Sanction was my first expensive bag but we never quite got along. I did love the front pockets for getting to things. The straps hurt. And I learned I'm not a bucket girl. My CPL 24 V2 and CHZ 22 should be the answer, but they are digging into my back and soul and the frame bows (load lifters might be my savior). I feel like someone could play me like an instrument....super bummed and this is super long and I'm too lazy to cut it...maybe I should cut out the frame sheet...There's a question in there, somewhere...

The comfiest bags I own are probably the Apex from this video, the Rambler, and maybe the Radio Ruck. Anything Mystery Ranch is great too. I don't get along at all with the newer Tom Bihn straps and Evergoods also tends to dig into my back. You might want to look at something with the most amount of adjustability. I've always had the most luck that way. Mystery Ranch bags tend to offer a lot, for example. Load lifters have always helped me a ton, too.

Yeah, it's not. I think it's like... It's a fun bag to use from a bag nerd perspective but otherwise it could be annoying in how it's laid out. For my carry, I can get away with just a couple of outside pockets so it's fine.
