He visto mucho cine en 4 décadas, particularmente cine occidental.

A classic movie. One of the greatest ever made. Gene Hackman should have won the Oscar (Willem DeFoe should have won too, but sadly he was not nominated.). In fact the movie should have swept the Oscars. Unfortunately it was overshadowed by "Rain Man". "Rain Man" is a very good movie, but "Mississippi Burning" is light years ahead of it and is the better movie by far. I absolutely love the scene where Anderson (Hackman) tells Deputy Pell to get Sheriff Stuckey out of his office immediately. The look on Pell's face is priceless. Whenever I am having a bad day, I just look at movie clips from "Mississippi Burning" such as this one. Always puts a smile on my face. "...you backwoods shitass you..." BRILLIANT!

Hard to believe Deputy Pell is so cheerful and smiling, when he witnessed the murder and burial of those youths. His grinning gets him hot water with Gene Hackman, later.

I like that Gene Hackman’s character was a Southerner. It adds weight to his character. Throughout history, there have been individuals who stood up against odorous cultural norms and laws. Hackman’s character was one of those.

I remember seeing Gene Hackman in the Poseidon Adventure. The scene that stood out to from so many was when he was talking to his colleague “Get on your hands and knees, and pray for heat and hot water in the middle of February in a cold flat, garbage! Not where I come from! You can scrape of your knees. And icicles will build from your upraised palms. If you’re freezing you set fire to the building, you set fire to the furniture bud you get off your knees!” And I was only 11 years old back in 1972. That line has always stuck with me. Gave me the acting bug afterwards.

Gene Hackman's Agent Rupert Anderson reminds me of another character of his, Little Bill Daggett from Unforgiven. Mastery of portraying total rage below a thin veneer of charm. One of the best actors ever... with Brando, Fonda, Hopkins, Streep, etc.
