When Valleys baritones/Euphon came in at 23:32. That’s when you can tell they are loosing the battle. Needs a lil bit more work. Really impressed at how quick they are coming along. I gotta go back a look at when Dega first got on the map. I feel like we compare them. But this battle makes me think valley is overall better. The arrangements are more full.

I think people are so impressed with Valley's improvement that they're automatically giving them the W...Meanwhile, Jackson is still doing Jackson things and applying pressure. The arrangements are just more clean and clear to me, plus everyone is executing on all cylinders. My personal opinion.

Just like a basketball player who can score 30 but the team still lose , jsu for the win . Jsu has the best balanced sound from all the other bands . DT is not a best this year but they are solid and compliment JSu arrangements well. Also if you have 16 tubas who have complex base lines versus 24 -27 tubas playing whole notes and quarter notes then of course they will be out blown

let me leave my comment as a neutral person. over all valley is VERY much improved from what they used to be ,as know. they had some GOOD arrangements ,but you can tell the ones the kids either half dont want to play ,or dont know the music, because that fullness not there. also JSU too powerful in every section ,they book better ,over all and their more crisp an polished. JSU with the w for me. i like valley sound and what they doing ,but not quite ready for the 2 big dogs yet .

I said on another video that valley has come a long way! I’m happy to see their program starting to gain momentum. Moving forward I think they need to figure out how to blend the baritones with the rest of the band because they stick out from the rest of the band on too many songs and it takes away from them having a better sound. It reminds me of Alcorn when they started making their comeback. JSU gets the W but Valley didn’t come to play. And I don’t know the name of the song jsu played but when they came back in at 12:14 it was straight heat!!!

I’m very neutral. Played in band since 5th grade went the singing route in college and I sing opera. I have no swac hours. JSU was clearly the winner you can tell by the overall articulation of their band. Also playing another caliber of music writing better than a slightly lower caliber. I’m the furthest from a band person. I’ve never stayed to watch a “5th quarter”. Imma Bama St Alum but my son is now at Valley so I’m intrigued with everything Valley. To me both bands sound good. I do seem to hear a richer sound of togetherness from JSU. I liked the song choice from Valley more though. It seems like this is all subjective though and many are backhanded compliments to Valley. Do people not like them or something. I’m not into the band culture so I don’t know. I do know always mentioning Talledega when talking about them is hella lame but… I think without an actual scoreboard just enjoy the music and vibe!

Round 1- EDIT- tie...JSU could've been way cleaner here Round 2- JSU slightly. More harmony going on. Round 3- JSU Round 4- cant call it.
