mam,can you please do the direction of a vector in terms of drawing it on a cartesian plane ,for example a car that moves 6m/s in a southerly easterly direction maintains a velocity of 6m/s with a bearing of 135 degrees

Hi Ma'am love your work but according to research and my textbook, a vector is considered negative if going left or down is not up

Hey! Most textbooks choose left and down as "negative" directions and that is why your textbook is defining it like that. But in reality we can choose any direction we want as positive/negative. If we choose left as positive, a vector pointing left will be a positive vector. Hope this helps! ❤️

mam, I just wanted to ask at 5:21 why did u say the arrow pointing down ( 10m ) was positive, and the arrow pointing up ( 2m ) was negative?

We can choose direction. So if I choose down as positive then the 10 m is positive because it's going down☀️ up doesn't necessarily have to be taken as positive always xx
