I have the Kaweco Brass Sport with a medium nib. I have had it a couple of weeks now and really like it. Right now, it’s my most used fountain pen. I plan on getting a Pelikan M400 and M800 in the future. I’m up in the air about nib size. I have a TWSBI 580 ALR with a five nib and don’t like the way it writes. Too scratchy. The TWSBI Ecos I have with fine points aren’t bad.

I loved seeing your collection and hearing your enthusiasm during your writing samples. Sorry to see the 823's cap debacle. Short of sending it to Pilot, I can't think of anyone I know who could fix it. I've used several nibsmiths, and I even do pen repair myself, but from what I can see, the stresses on the repair area due to the clip might be too much and a new cap might be needed. Anyways . . . love, love , love your Pelikans. They're one of my top 3 brands and probably the single larges number in my collection. For me, the M800 is just about the perfect size and weight. I too have a M400 brown tortoise with a stub nib and really enjoy it. Take care.

Wow those writing samples were smooooooth like glass. The ink just flowed out perfectly. It’s so crazy the extra fines performed like that because the one extra fine pen I have is soooooooooo scratchy and I don’t ever use it. It’s a Lamy lx and holy cow I feel like it’s gonna tear through the paper it’s so scratchy. Maybe because it’s a steel nib and not a gold one? Idk but I’m def going to check out the Pelikans you showed. 😊😊😊

Did you manage to get your Pilot Custom 823 fixed ? I too have manage to break my pilot custom 743 cap exactly like yours. Reached out to Pilot and the quote they gave me, one could by a new pilot 74, I had tears in my eyes.... was a complete ripoff

With regards to your 823 cap, I’d suggest contacting Pilot and asking for a replacement cap. In my experience, they’ll ask to be emailed a picture of the problem, the pen’s make, as well as your mail address, and will have a cap sent to you pending a payment. It cost me 120 AUD to get this done.

With the 823, talk to pilot usa. I dropped a pen and badly damaged it, emailed them, and they were able to just sell the piece I needed

My tears ducts are swelling so bad for your 823..... Might I suggest you research through the pen habit (Matt Armstrong) and the goulet pen company and sbre brown they more likely can get you an answer regarding that horrible accident. They may do a live session you'll have to be quick to catch them and be consistent with your dire request. Now excuse me I'm going to find a corner and cry for your custom 823 ....
