Just so you know there is a Foster Family mod. I think Fantazia featured it. I'm not sure who made it though. You can foster children or pets. You get a call from the service and then you go and get the Sim that needs your temporary or forever care. No you can't control your foster but you can love them and prepare them for the next step as well as approve of their adoption or make them a part of your Sim's family.

I love this! I love playing with “non conventional” family relationships so my latest save is a family who was living a normal life, the wife is a secret agent and her husband is a politician, his sister had a child and couldn’t take care of her, so she moves in and is adopted by the family, she becomes best friends with her younger cousin. So I’m going to have the fashion loving cousin and the aspiring doctor cousin become best friends and move in together after university, and they’ll raise their kids together as single mothers, I’m struggling to find a house for them

For anyone interested there is a mod by LittleMsSam called Foster Family, it’s a very family friendly one and it’s awesome for this kind of gameplay! I have my vampire sim married to a human who doesn’t want to be turned, they have bio children but they also foster other kids, sometimes they adopt them. In any case with this mod you can get to know the future parents as well, ask them about their family and income I believe, and you can refuse anyone you don’t like :)

When you're trying to make a landing space/delete the floor, do exactly what you did except also draw a wall right at the top of the stairs too. The wall won't stay on the stairs, but that's what makes it a full room. :)

Littlemisssam has a foster family mod that I use in my game. It allows you to become a foster family and help the children you foster get adopted. I’m not sure if the mod works in the new update. I haven’t planned since then, but when I last played, it still worked.

Your landing issue could be because you didn't enclose it as a space. I usually do it by marking out the area with a fence, including "over" the stairs, and then delete the floor and replace whatever fence with whatever I choose. Hope it helps.

I think its a custom content thing. People use it to put objects wherever they want without using cheats. If you take it out of your build then its not counted as a custom content build
