MiSTer FPGA Saturn Core Updated! More Improvements!

I've got the mouse, steering wheel, mission stick, virtua fighting stick, 3d pad plus 2 light guns, I am looking forward to the core getting to the point where I can use them all.

@@VideoGameEsoterica haha yes, I do have a Saturn as well , now the mouse is supported, maybe the steering wheel, night get sorted, but to be honest I love to play full screen 60hz , CRT jap Outrun, Space Harrier etc with the proper controllers, that mission stick is perfect..

I just ran the update all the other day and noticed my Saturn games don’t work. Says BIOS are missing. No matter if I change the region to USA or Japan, I just get a blank screen. Any advice?

Not making a joke…did you check to make sure the bios was there? That it wasn’t somehow overwritten

Lol no offense taken. The boot.rom file is in the folder. I assume that’s the BIOS file. 🤷🏻‍♂️

As someone who has never played a sega saturn game before and is loading his mister up with some of the saturn's all time greats, what kind of an experience can I expect with this core in its current state? How far along is it in terms of just firing up a random game and getting a good experience? I have a reflex adapter with the saturn cable and recently picked up a saturn controller on ebay and i'm excited to hop in and play stuff i never got to experience like the panzer dragoon series.

Virtua Cop on PC works with a mouse so I'm not surprised it works on an actual Saturn or well FPGA. Saturn also had a keyboard, a regular ps/2 port Alps SM-101 variant that was used for the Sega Mega Terra drive PC in Japan. It uses an Alps buckling spring type switch, a little like an IBM Model M. There's another kb too white for Japanese Saturn, Fujitsu made i think? You'd think it was usable with a ton of fps and strategy titles but no lol. They use a ps/2 to Saturn adapter so you could really use any kb. Saturn sure did have a lot accessories.

Unlike the thumbnail, my boxed Saturn mouse is black… and looks just like my boxed Genesis Mega Mouse. Kinda wish we got Japan’s colors in the USA though in this case it just looks like a PC mouse with an extra button (few 3bt PC mouses back then).
