Hi Nick. This is a fun fact. I recently watch a video on KZbin about the old overhead railway that went to the dock. It showed the tower. And at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the roof there where 3 toilet cubicles. There are now 2 doors with 1 bricked up. If they are staying as toilets mate. There's going to be a hell of a queue. 😂😂😂

1) The mystery semi-astro turfed pen seems to have a circular waste bin in the corner. It is hard to gauge the size of it, but could it be a play area for toddlers (LFC fans)? 2) I could envisage railway carriages/wagons being used to provide beverages :)

Shame you missed out having a proper look at the most south east part of the fan plaza by the dock wall & site boundry. It had storage & equipment there for most of the build but has now been freed up to complete ground works & new fencing.

Mark: your imagination is running riot. Whilst I agree with you that it's likely that the A and E WILL be on the Central Tower Gate at the south end and one of the two towers at the north end, they haven't yet been fitted.

Away fans will be directed along the northern access road to the away fans’ turnstiles in the north east corner. On sunny days, they will be welcome to enjoy the east fan zone plaza in the hours leading up to kick off

Olly: No, the club shop at GP will close as the whole site will be redeveloped. I don't know the timing of that. It's possible that Security may allow temporary Disabled Car Parking IF they are visiting the shop. The most likely spot is the bollarded area to the south of the Driveway inside the north Tower Gate entrance.

Michael's memorial is a mooring post or bollard. The ones in front of the tower are capstans which are more like a winch. Hope they jet wash and re-point the outer wall the, stones are a nice light grey like the ones they put back cleaned. I can only imagine the letters are rust because English heritage want everything as low key as possible

English Heritage are a charity - nothing to do with them. Historic England are the government organisation responsible for protecting the country’s heritage

John: the wall will not get jetwashed. They'd end up having to repoint everything as well, if they did. The heritage Stakeholders want the appearance of unfettered originality, not new walls, so the intent will be to allow the new sections to age like the old wall. Corten Steel is regularly used on new builds, never mind old building refurbishments, as it's low-maintenance and reflects the nature of the original use, especially as there were lots of rusted objects around the site and even on the walls before EFC took charge of BMD.

Sam: relax, there will be. There is a long list in the Approved Plans of potential Illuminated Signage locations on the stadium and the site. We have to wait to see how EFC use them when they carry out the customisation.

The first one that’s close to the corner of the hut seems to be sticking out quite abit, I understand why but it looks like it could affect any vehicles driving down the road? Also does anyone know if the club will be in liaison with the company VOI in terms of having a special deal / area for fans to use the scooters/bikes they have around the city to help with transport too and from the stadium?

Bazzer, the old Mooring Bollards that are located in the old Dock Wall Granite Coping Stones are being left rusty on purpose, so that they are seen in the original state, juts like the wall itself. Yes, they will be filling in or making good the 'holes' in the Granite Coping Stones so that they aren't a trip hazard. You can see they have done so in some areas but not yet all.

It's a vertical-axled rotating machine that's often used on ships, in shipyards, and in railroad yards. You can see a couple of reclaimed and black-encapsulated Capstans immediately in front of the Hydraulic Tower @ 6:22 mins.

I'm having a hard time with the changes in slope. It looks like the top of the dock wall in sections would have to have a downward slope. Was some of the top of the old dock walk removed to match the current grading?

Not sure exactly what your referring to but there is a small slope from the dock edge to the ground level at the turnstile of 0.7m at the south stand and from the top of the visible dock wall to the turnstile on the East Plaza.

Eric: the old dock wall is the lowest point of the Plaza. The surface actually slopes down from the Regent Road wall. Obviously the very S and N ends of the Plaza up to the stadium facade are at the same level as the old dock wall but the central part of the stadium is on a higher level. So, the water-effect flags are actually laid on a slope up centrally but that is why there are two split-level blue-glass fronted benches, so as to provide an easy differential between the higher central parts and the level of the old Dock Wall. Does that answer your question?

Lee: yes, that Door # is for the entrance to the East Stand Hospitality Lounge. There is an escalator further back behind that door that will take them up. The club shop comprises 2/3 rds of the ground floor and the whole of the top floor of the Main Portal.

Mike: they are the Heritage Rails. They have been reinserted exactly where they were before the work began. Trains were the main form of goods transport to and from the dockside, originally.

Rust colour of the lettering. The entire stadium had to fit in with the surrounding architecture and not look out of place. The use of blue will be for little details in the same way of the subtle nods to the cris cross design.

It's very unlikely to be a bar. The floorplan is probably too small for that and I can't see LCC planners looking kindly on a load of alcohol-fuelled, pumped-up supporters on the roof, particularly overlooking the Away Fans movements or the Away Players arriving. The roof was never designed to be holding a mass of people either: it was merely a cover for the Pumps and Engines below. The finish of crushed rock gravel is for appearance and ease of maintenance only and the safety rails are designed only to protect maintenance contractors. It's far more likely to be what was outlined in the original plan, which was for it to be a Cafe AND Museum, although what kind of museum is not clear. Longer-term it's earmarked to be the northern terminal of the Mersey Walk along the front from the southern terminal at the National Garden site, even if that will be after Peel Group have finished developing Liverpool Waters, so some way off.

Corten Steel is regularly used on new builds, never mind old building refurbishments, as it's low-maintenance and reflects the nature of the original use, especially as there were lots of rusted objects around the site and even on the walls before EFC took charge of BMD.

It’s a dog ‘spending’ area. It’s for assistance dogs to go and do their business. There will be a second one at the southern end of the plaza near the other old turreted entrance through the dock wall.

Craig: It's for dogs. There is a bin holder but also a drain and water supply. I did expect the astroturf to cover the whole area but we shall have to wait and see about that.

They'll need to cement or smooth over the crumbled dock wall (located near the North East stand) in some way as that can be a tripping hazard.

Primars pretty much always grey not a burnt orange. I reckon that's staying with that rusty effect so it ties in with the area where you have the Titanic & Tobacco warehouse just down the road.

It looks like they have used Corten steel also known as weathering steel
