The shotgun traps are easily broken with grenades and a ladder. A suicide drop is a well known strategy which is easily avoidable if you know what you're doing.

I noticed some flaws with this base. For the 'Drop Shot', I suggest making all of the walls surrounding the shotgun traps half walls, so they cannot be picked into and destroyed. Also, put a door frame with a garage door from the 'Drop Shot' to the airlock for more protection and prevention of putting a triangle above the drop and rushing into the doorway where the shotgun traps cannot get to you. For the "No-no Box", you forgot to mention that a Tier 3 Workbench is only 3 Incendiary Rockets, so it will be less protection and more of just a hassle of getting in and out of your base. For the "Funky Roof" you explaining your dislike for bunkers using raised foundations makes no sense here, as raiders can easily jackhammer the wall to the left, resulting in them just going around the roof. This base isn't recommended, just build a regular bunker at this stage. It will safe you a lot of hassle and time getting in and out of your base and save you on resources.

I tested the shotgun traps not taking damage by all you could throw in there. Five F1 grenades, which you can buy for only 40 scrap, destroyed all of them without problem. I don't know why Mr. Flaks traps don't take explosion damage but I can assure you on a vanilla server they'll go down with a 10 minute farm run near bandit camp for 40 scrap.

I use a drop trap, but I do it a little bit differently. However, as you mention you have to use a square tile and put them all the way to the back on the top of the tile. There is almost no way too breaking it when you use this method. (sometimes glitches or crazy grenades happen) I've used a lot of base designs over... well since rust began, and the drop trap is by far the best in my opinion. It is cheap, no messing around with bunkers, can't really be patched, shuts down most raiders (maybe not clans) and it is flexible and can be added to almost every base design. I'm not really a fan of foundation bunkers, or bunkers you have to destroy a wall. Chances are they will be patched making your base design worthless. They are also a pain to use in many cases. Although I am a fan of "bunkers" meaning there isn't an entrance to the first level from the outside making raiders go from the 2nd floor to the basement. This can really mess with small groups or solo players.

And yeah i think that not much rust players know about 1 tip : you can break very cheaply tier 2 and tier 3 by shooting : incendiary rocket or the best method is using incendiary ammo for shotguns like 2 stacks of them and you broke tier 3

Shortcut trap is the best with f1 grenades, they bounce and destroy them perfectly, make sure you throw them far so they bounce back far enough with velocity to reach the shortgun trap

Honestly the drop trap he has is EASILY beatable with 3-4 nades. I made the same thing and broke them all. You just chuck the nade at the triangle wall and they will go under.

Cool idea but I have a few problems with it. First the shotguns traps can be destroyed by F1 bases quite easily (took me 19 while testing it). Second, the tier 3 is NOT as strong as a hqm wall, it can be destroyed with a flame thrower or incin shotgun shells cheaply. Third of all with the roof and high foundation inside the 2x2, it leaves a 2x1 space for deployables which is not enough for a duo or trio, and probably not even a solo. Cool ideas, poor execution.

Add garage door to the shotgun trap and make all the walls half walls if you want to use the tier three I suggest trying to glitch the foundation into the water so incins won't work on it also upgrade the walls and foundations so they can't get eco raided. I don't think the base is that bad but I just think it's too expensive for the pay off.

@Mister Flak This is indeed some good news for the people who very much enjoy the standard 2by2 design, a tip btw is that instead of walling off the 2by2, you can do the honeycomb first, leaving the triangles blank. you then place a door way instead, and a vending machine to act as extra protection in the honeycomb, cool thing is you can add a door from the inside and you get extra box space in the honeycomb, should they decide to raid from the side, they are going to have to go through a vending machine and destroy potentially good loot.

-That weird entrance. I am not sure about if. What if you are full of loot, now you cant get in your base coz you dont have wood or building plan. If you stone up a floor tile to make a permanent jump up, you just gave easy access to your roof, now that jump up is where you gonna get DBed in the head as you try to exit your base. -tier 3, if someone is not an experienced builder they shouldn’t do that. Screwing that part up means not only you lose your base, you lost base with mint condition tier3. - that roof bunker in a 2x2. Naa man thats waste of space. Only a duo can live in that at most. Otherwise its 3rd bag or furnace. I do like the entrance though but i would use it on a bigger base not a 2x2. Same goes for the roof bunker. Its good to see you back building bases mate 👌👌.

Great video man. I usually make a stone honeycombed 2x1 with the offset square as an armored suicide bunker. It's a mixture of subterfuge and strength (I know some people hate the inconvenience of suicide bunkers; but as a solo who only plays a few times a week, that extra protection is invaluable to me). I think I can adapt some of these ideas to make it a little stronger and more annoying to raid, which is fine by me. Every little trick helps.

Did you try rolling beancan grenades into the front shotgun part? They can have a serious delay or obvious dud . Maybe enough to roll to splash damage. The front might also be vulnerable to having the front wall destroyed and the shotgun traps being shot out at range. Maybe a bit of honeycomb/half honeycomb or plating/fake compartment at front could help.

TBH i would just build a regular base and just call it a day. You dont see cans using big complicated bases. Only big bases. 3x3 core with peakdowns for example. Easy and simple. I would just have it so door raiding is more difficult than blowing through walls so i can get in and out of my base without needing anything at all.

Used it on a vanilla, 2 weeks ago. Pop was 70 to 150ish. Lasted 8 days. Noh raids and plenty of free loot from the drop shot. Used the dropshot/nono box combo. Deadly.
