Based off my family history and personal temperament, I should have social anxiety. But ever since a young age I've encouraged myself to be vocal in front of people, even as far as giving speeches/presentations/performances and such. I can't say I'm perfectly free from social anxiety now, but I think constantly challenging myself and seeing I was still alive raised my overall confidence, and now I have more conviction in who I am and what I have to say. I feel so proud of people who overcome, and I'm proud of myself too. 💗 I'm proud of you, Mr. Sweet!

Thanks for taking the time and effort and making this video Mister. Anxiety makes you feel so fucked up... stuck in the same place everyday, paralyzed by your own self, and then the guilt trip after all that. I'm really glad whenever I see people adressing this issue, specially after the pandemic which left many with some degree of anxiety. Also, great choice of soundtrack (as usual).

I’m so glad you liked it! And I agree with you, as much as it’s talked about in some spheres, I still meet people who are shocked to hear it’s happening to other people! (Also so glad you like the sountrack)

I sorta needed this in a way to open myself up to these concepts. I find it hard to believe the truth I have been through stuff like this and find a weird comfort and solace that battle against anxiety is not fought alone. Glad that these genuinely helpful tips and insights can at least be shared to some folks on the internet who need it! Thank you for this video.

I have to say, when I was listening to your story and explanation for your anxiety, it was almost like you were explaining what happened to me almost a decade ago. I used to be so afraid of getting sick (throwing up in particular) or being around anyone who would throw up (I still have some issues with being around vomit), that I became agoraphobic for at least a year. I would have a panic attack any time I would go outside and/or even think about doing anything like eating or being around people. Sometimes it’s hard for me to believe that that even happened to me. Thank you for the tips. I have improved so much since that time, but I still struggle with a low self esteem and not being productive enough. Your tips will still help with that. One thing that’s helped me lately is thinking of everything as a step towards a bigger goal and eat mini step is a little mini victory. Even if that mini step is actually taking a bath and brushing your teeth. It helps to not get overwhelmed by everything. Keep up the great work! Forgive me for my rambling comment lol.

Thank you so much for sharing!! I love that advice about relishing in the small victories and the example you gave is just so relieving to hear! As a perfectionist, it's always been a struggle to not set high standards for small victories, so setting the bar low enough to reach is so important! So glad you liked the video!

Great advice. I'm still working on anxiety, but the panic attacks are long gone, mostly from journalling. My advice is don't try to self medicate with alcohol or anything else. It just gives you another problem and worse depression.

Woah, I got that sort of cyclical vomiting thing too, started after I got Mono in first year. Never had a phobia, but I started almost triggering it any time there was an inflexible event (flying, deadlines etc.) I grew out of it over the next half decade, but man did I lose a lot of weight. I don’t think it was anxiety, but definitely caused some anxiety lol

I would like to say, as a person with general anxiety: You don't have to tackle your Problems right now, there is a time and place for this. Make yourself a nice Supportsystem, be it friends that encourage and keep an eye out on you, or a cozy room, a tactical backup space / room. And THEN tackle your Anxiety. Feel it, and (for me) punch it in the face. Do the fucking thing with your safety-support-system and acknowledge that it wasn't nearly as bad as thought. Contragts, you now have a pattern for supporting your anxiety!

Man, I really related to the symptoms and processes of getting worst you described, avoiding tasks, loosing weight, anxiety attacks, the depression that follows it... But the way I got out of it was very different, I 100% agree that one should see a psychiatrist, but the drugs really did work for me, I’ve been taking Paxil for almost 1,5 in order to rebalance the chemicals in my brain and it’s really been working. Also, meeting a psychologist was really the turning point for me. But one very important thing that I reckon wasn’t mentioned was physical exercise, the endorphins are really magical and speed up the healing process. Also, facing your fears, being honest to everyone around you and basically having new experiences in order to train your brains that everything is not so bad and scary after all were fundamental to me. Glad to see you thrive, Mr Sweet. Keep up the good work

My best advice is to stretch. It helps you to focus on breathing and wake up, loosens muscles so that breathing is easier and it makes you pause a take a moment

No. Way. I have had emetophobia since I was in kindergarten. So, 20 years now. It's incredibly destructive and I've never been able to get it under control (I also never had help though, until I became an adult). I'm very happy for you for getting yours under control. I have OCD so emetophobia is only a part of it, and it can be an incredibly lonely disorder.

Hey mate, as far as anxiety goes, you got lucky. I'm so glad you were able to overcome that. I've had mine for 22 years. You can hide it with medication but it's always there. I'm not sure how a psychologist is going to handle it but basically the way to reverse it is for the exact opposite to happen, which would be a miracle. I was in a vulnerable state and exposed to pretty consistent bullying, which I can sort of deal with one on one but it's the public sort (especially in front of girls) that caused the physical dysphoria and body dysmorphia disorder that never went away. Unless random, unbiased stranger(s) start giving compliments (hence the miracle) I have no idea how they're going to solve it but I'll find out on Friday... Good luck to them though.

Hey man I'm really sorry to hear about what you're going through! Best of luck to you finding the relief you need, keep an open mind towards the insights and tactics of others and especially professionals. It's all a mental game at the end of the day

@@MisterSweetProductions Strangely it's the professionals that have been part of the problem. They're quick to prescribe medication, which is fine if it's targeted towards specific symptoms and not a nuke. It's like you get a flat tyre but instead of replacing it they stop you realising it's flat, lol. So I've spent the last two years investigating *everything* and compiling the results. I'm really excited to see what happens this week.
