Try graphing both y=0 and x=0 as straight lines or as a table of values. In order for the graph to be x=0, the value of x would always have to be zero but, along the x axis, this is not the case. As you move across the x-axis, the value of x covers all numbers. The value of y, however, at every single point on the x axis, is zero. I know this question is a couple of months old, but I hope this helps : )
