Agreed. I was actually watching a play through of Queen by Midnight and after a few turns I couldn’t help but go to the table in the next row to go look at this. Backed it and can’t wait to get it.

Is there the same tightness for worker placement spots in a 2P game as there is in solo?

Yes, in two player there's a third dummy who functions similarly to how the dummies work in the solo game but with a little bit more direction. So two-player game replicates a three-player game while the solo replicates a four-player game but the solo needs that because you don't have another human player taking the best stuff :-)
