Do universities provide mechanical parts to students along with cutting or do students have to buy their own mechanical parts? Where do students cut these parts?

In our college they let us use their equipments. But the main question is don't parts like Lidars cost 23k? Do they buy it themselves?

@@akitametam6061 yep all of em are used but mechanical not as extensively as computers is

Mechanical is the part that will give the actual structure to the robot. In actual robots, it is very essential, as you will be thinking the structure from scratch, not just some intuitive gripper. Computer Science gives the brains and electronics connect the mechanical to the computer part. Thanks.
