Its as simple as not being committed to winning a cup. If you coward out instead of taking a hit to play the puck, (which he does often) that says a lot about his committment. Last year he caused a number of turnovers which lead to goals, and it cost the games. Between him not performing, certain players not having enough discipline and Willy being out, its pretty concerning.

Because the narrative is that Mariner is weak or lazy but most of us can see that that is usually when Matthews is on the ice and high pressure situations but as soon as Matthews came down with a sudden illness Marner stop it up not to mention he's playing with an injured ankle (I think he's actually injured unlike nylander and Matthews)

I'm fine with what Willy is going to get. But based on their playoff games over the years for me it's not even close who I'd rather have between Willy or Marner. Definitely Willy. Leafs do miss Willy's poise. More then I thought too. Moving forward I'd also really like the Leafs to keep Bertuzzi and Domi. I think to a point I'd rather keep them both over Marner. It's about the playoffs, not the regular season. Hopefully Marner realizes he can earn a lot more money if he becomes a positive factor in the playoffs.
