Braeden Liscum How has Samuel changed since the beginning of the book? Be specific and support with evidence from the text. Orphaned, alone, and in the open. This is what described Sam in the beggining of the book. He was always on the run, ever since the day he died. He was always thinking about his mom, how she got kicked out of their cottage, work 12 hours at the poorhouse, and died because of overworking. This caused his life to be filled with hate, HATE on the everyone who contributed to his mom’s death, including the poorhouse owner, and their land owner. And the he hated his dad, who died because of alcohol abuse. He was abusive, and one slap sent him to the darkness. Though since he died, he had lost one bad dad, but this all been made up by becoming an orphan. He has a nostalgic feeling, a longing for the past. For his mom, his home. And with his only memory of his mum, her locket, tooken away, he’s gone great lengths to get it. Nothing has changed about him in the middle. Not willing to cooperate, alone, and unteachable. No one can teach him, as he said in a story about his dad trying to teach him something, but his mind wouldn’t budge. He won’t cooperate, and never works with Richard and James,, and is always, alone. And if someone teases him, it can a be bloody event recorded in the records. Though, the memories of his parents have faded, his mindset hasn’t budged. Alas, he has changed to the brim. His ideaology has changed. He is more open minded. He has become more teachable, cooperative, and has feelings for others. Open-minded, loving, caring, cooperating, and teachable, Sam has overcome his difficulties , and is the completely the opposite. He is teachable, as was shown when Captain Smith taught him to sword fight, and not only was he excited, but willing to let Captain John Smith teach him, and he learned a quickly as a tiger learns how to run the day it’s born. Well, he’s not unteachable anymore. He has learned to cooperate with Captain Smith, and even Richard. He has feeling, even for James, as he tried to save him, and remained in guilt after that day. He learned that he cares for others. Everything has changed. He has changed from a rotten banana to a just ripe one. He has become the opposite of what he started at. Reversed, that’s him now. He has become a better self and has changed to fit the environment better. Better, than what he was. How he’s changed: Captain Smith-” He has become more teachable. I was able to teach him sword fighting, and he cooperated. He has learned that to survive on multiple feet, by cooperating. He has learned his lessons. He has become less arrogant and physical. Also, this boy is more caring and cooperative, and has changed to survive in the new world, a new environment. He has come a long way.” Reverend Hunt-” He has become more respectful, and has empathy. He learned to stay in control. He cares for others, and puts himself in other people’s shoes. He helped James, and has emotions. He has become more civilized.” Richard-” That boy had become less physical. He cooperates, a bit. At least I didn’t get a bloody nose.” Main Reason: The main reason he changed his to fit in the new world to survive. He mainly changed because of the lessons he was taught, and so he could fit in with the others and live a good life in the future. He learned his manners!

Has anyone here read "Room" by Emma Donoghue? Mitch was isolated for 3 months and (understandably) is feeling completely overwhelmed how much the world has changed - be it just the instagram update. Greg says he feels like that took years away from Mitch as he's missed a lot of experiences, adding the lack of sunlight, and the effects of no sports in 3 months. Now, "Room" is about a woman being kidnapped and trapped into s single room for more than 6 years. She gives birth to child, who never sees what's outside until he's five. Considering what 3 *months* of isolation and captivity without any connection to the outer world means, I can barely fathom what impact 6 years (that's 24 times as long. *24 times!!*) must have had on a person. Even worse, the novel is based on a real event, the Fritzl case, which includes over 19 years of captivity.

+Mry64 A twist allowed 2 eliminated players (both were people that Mitch played like a fiddle) to stay inside a room for a week where they would watch the house guests on live feeds and see how everyone played the game. Then one of those 2 were able to come back into the game. This was unfair because they exchanged all their information with each other and were able to find out that Mitch played them both. I think Mitch did everything he could. He tried to reason with Raul to not put him on the block but he wasn't listening to reason. Sometimes you just get screwed by a twist. Mitch is definitely one of my favourite Big Brother players and I'd love to see him on the show again.

I live in the US and because incarceration rates are so high it's common for ppl to be in jail for 30+ years. Question since I don't know how this stuff works. I look at Big Brother Canada S4 on Wikipedia and it says Mitch was evicted on day 42 yet here they talk about him missing 3 months, can anyone explain me what's exactly going on?

He was a part of the jury who ends up voting for the winner at the end. The jury stays in a house somewhere unknown until the finale so they don't have any outside contact or influence.
