It's amazing how much history that corner has,from a workhouse to military hospital,a part of it also bacame a record and recording studio,Pye records,i know someone who worked there,a lot of singers came to visit the studios in its day.

What I remember most, is the " pub", named after the cricketer, Burn Bullock....The 1960s....great, wonderful days, when the UK was still a peaceful, safe, place to live.

Another great , informative video with astounding research skills ! I believe my Aunt volunteered as a part time nurse at the hospital during the Great War . I was intrigued by the number of men who died there and who were in the Labour corps . I adore noted some were trans in from their regiments . I wonder whether the revision link between their work and conditions of service which resulted in their deaths ? Or more prosaically, were they stationed in England and were therefore sent to hospital and buried here rather than in France ? Interesting as well that a couple died in their 30 s - I’d assumed , wrongly , the casualties would be in their teens or early twenties. I find it amazing that you are able to find such interesting topics week by week or even more frequently. Well done .
