Actually that is a misconception. It was common for nobilities and royals to do this but even then, the wife was not to be touched until she was at a much older age. Commoners actually married at more appropriate age between each other as girls were encouraged to work before marriage.

There is also one anime abt cocktails too! It's called The Bartender if i'm not wrong. The stories are pretty heartwarming but I should warn you that the pacing is a bit slow (in case u prefer moderate or fast paced ones). Animation wise, it's not the best but the drinks presented still look good :>

As much as I love this anime and it’s wonderfully simple story, I really wish Heramina was in her early 20’s. Its kinda gross to know she’s 16 and married to a 32 year old man. Though, yeah, it is during the medieval times where men would be paired with teenagers. And Bert is a good man, so I guess until she’s an adult their marriage is brighter for the future.

Funnily enough, there was a period in most societies where it was fairly common to have such an age difference between a married couple. In most cases, it was a case of money, as older men were able to support a family and women were expected to stay at home and raise the children.

Something that i like is that you can clearley tell that Hermina is a is not from the land Bertold lives by the utensils they are using ( Hermina is using a fork , and Bertold is using chopsticks )

Yeah in an normal context is quite creepy, but you have to consider that this otherworld is like our Dark ages, back then if I'm not wrong women like Shinobu can be considered too old to marry someone and better is if the woman get married as sonner as possible, since life expectancy were quite low, the most important thing is that she is happy with him so, other things matter less
