Pete Seeger was a great guy. He was a Communist and song a lot of folk labor songs like "Which Side Are You On?" and "Solidarity Forever". He was blacklisted during the McCarthy Era

Originally a Peter La Farge song. Pete Seeger loved and respected La Farge greatly. After La Farge died young, Pete Seeger and Johnny Cash both honored him by performing his songs to audiences they would not have had the chance to reach otherwise. La Farge was not Native, but he took the Natives' cause personally and used music to speak up for them when their voices were mostly ignored at the time. Never thought I'd hear Mitski performing a La Farge song. My two hyper fixations colliding ❤

for some reason, i always cry when hearing this song. when i was at my lowest point in life i lissened alot of mitski. this was the song i heard after finally getting out of my lowest point as it just reminds me of how sad and self destructive i was. i love mitski.

Coyot', coyote what have they done? Little brother, where where do you run? They strychinined the mountain They strychinined the plain My little brother, the coyote Won’t come back again When you hear him singing The few that are left He's warning the human race of his death Don't poison the mesas don’t poison the sky Or you won't be back Little brother, goodbye There will be no one to listen And no one to sing and never, and never Will there be spring Coyot', coyote what have they done? “especially since Pete Seeger did a lot of work, environmental work in the Hudson Valley - Hudson River. so, bless him. didn’t really work so (laughter)”
