I have the centre diff light flashing when driving for a distance. I have a new vacuum solenoid and there is suction in one pipe when in 2H and in other when in 4H. However, actuator does not move in or out. It does move by hand so not seized. So I am guessing the actuator needs replacement?

Thanks for this video. Do you know the part number of the sensor at 1:03 ?

Hello, that is the one part I did not buy. the Mechanic bought it and invoiced it simply as the freewheel sensor. I suspect it is part MR953767

Hi very interesting video, thanks. My gen 4 pajero differential light is blinking after driving constantly in the highway about 40 km on 2WD. I have replaced vacuum switch selenoid, since one of the switch ( yellow) has 0 ohm/ dead. After i replaced, the differential light is still blinking after driving 40 km. Any idea if I should replace the freewheel sensor/ switch at 1:03?

Hello, I only replaced the first three parts of a long list, to get mine working. As I had been to mechanics and they were unable to find the problem, I started with the parts that were the cheapest. I also tested those parts before ordering new ones. The solenoids are fairly cheap. I paid about $80 AUD for genuine however, could have gone non genuine for far cheaper ($20 AUD). I removed the airbox, put my finger over the solenoid port and had someone move through 2WD/4WD and felt no air suction, clearly they were dead. I saw the crushed freewheel actuator so it made sense to change that (You can post a picture of yours here, we might be able to see any obvious issues. (Non Genuine $60 AUD, genuine $169 AUD, Genuine from a mechanic $369 AUD). I then see the freewheel sensor was leaking oil. $100 AUD. Then I saw the hole in the pipe leading into the freewheel actuator. So almost all of the things I saw faulty, I ended up replacing. From there, you need to get up over the Transfer case and look at the leads and sensors. That is where the real money starts to come in. If you can do the other things first, hopefully that is where the faults lay but the transfer case has 5 sensors and 5 leads and if they need replacing, you could be looking at over $1000 AUD plus labour
