Trooper's Narrative: I WAS TRAVELING NORTHBOUND ON U.S. HIGHWAY 65 NEAR THE CITY LIMITS OF HARRISON WHEN I OBSERVED V1 TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND AT 80 MPH IN A 45 MPH ZONE. I ACTIVATED MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND SIREN AND TURNED MY UNIT AROUND TO STOP V1. AFTER CATCHING UP TO V1 I OBSERVED BRAKES LIGHTS AND A RIGHT TURN SIGNAL COMING FROM V1. I TURNED MY SIREN OFF BELIEVING V1 WAS GOING TO STOP. V1 CONTINUED SOUTHBOUND, I ACTIVATED MY SIREN AGAIN. V1 SIGNALED AS IF HE WAS GOING TO STOP, AND ONCE AGAIN I TURNED MY SIREN OFF. V1 THEN USED THE TURN LANE TO NAVIGATE AROUND VEHICLES AT A STOP LIGHT. I ACTIVATED MY SIREN AND NOTIFIED DISPATCH THAT I WAS IN PURSUIT OF V1. V1 CONTINUED SOUTH THROUGH HARRISON ON MAIN STREET. V1 WAS SPEEDING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH ABOVE POSTED SPEED ZONES WHILE IN THE CITY LIMITS. I CHASED V1 THROUGH NON-POPULATED RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MINUTES. AFTER CLEARING THE NEIGHBORHOOD WE ENTERED CAPPS RD AND TRAVELED TOWARD STATE HIGHWAY 397. V1 MADE A RIGHT TURN ONTO S.H. 397 AND BEGAN PASSING CARS. I WAITED FOR VEHICLES TO BE CLEAR OF THE ROADWAY AND PERFORMED A PIT ON V1 BY MOVING TO THE RIGHT REAR SIDE OF HIS VEHICLE AND USING MY DRIVER-SIDE PIT BUMPER TO MOVE V1 OFF HIS COURSE. V1 ROTATED A HALF TURN CLOCKWISE HITTING MY PASSENGER SIDE. V1 THEN ROLLED BACKWARDS AND BECAME PERPENDICULAR IN THE ROADWAY. I USED THE FRONT OF MY PUSH BAR TO "PIN" V1s PASSENGER SIDE AND KEEP HIM FROM MOVING. HARRISON PD UNITS HELPED BOX HIM IN. S1 WAS REMOVED FROM V1 AND PLACED UNDER ARREST WITHOUT INCIDENT.

It's a very hard concept for many who act like there's a giant magnet buried under the left lanes. I chalk it up to a generational thing. They learned to drive from an idiot who learned from an idiot who learned from an idiot and were never taught right. I've even seen drivers ed cars in the left lane with no other traffic close to them meaning the instructors are idiots! It's also why you see many accidents, especially on Interstates caused because someone was in the left lane and started to move over but didn't see the other vehicle already occupying that lane because they are in their blind spot which is the reason that many states like Arkansas have a "Keep Right Except to Pass" law.

Again, failure to move over for emergency vehicles. They need 10 to 15 officers in a row, and if they fail to yield, pull them over. Then next officer, pulls over the next offender. Right down the line. And do this often til the word spreads, and don’t think some don’t do it on purpose, because they do! It’s dangerous and they need to yield to emergency vehicles!

A pursuit is alot of mental concentration to not crash yourself and focus on keeping calm and collected. He probably thought it was radio chatter or had to focus to much at times to get his radio and reply. Usually the second car in the pursuit calls out cause they don't have to be as close and diligent as the primary.
