I’m looking to buy a flat in a block that has 20 of these on the roof directly above my flat. Do you reckon this would create a lot of noise and vibration being so close to them?
@danbramill84102 жыл бұрын
Hi there, you can turn the main pump speed down, in most cases to minimum, it’s a 15 meter head pump and they come set to max as standard, also you can adjust your legionella program to min.

Many thanks for all your interesting and informative videos. In this one you mentioned the latest Ecodan FTC6 controller. I believe this now has a function called Quiet Mode, but I haven't nanaged to find any info about it and what you can do with it. Any info at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙂

Thanks for this great video. I'm at a point of ordering a heat pump and everyone keeps telling me to use a buffer tank, whatever brand I buy. 1 Mitsubishi guy said it's not needed and I was confused. So i can safely buy the 11.2kW without buffer tank ?

Which one is better mitsubishi ecodan or vaillant arotherm plus?
@dorewoodman Жыл бұрын
Hi, It depends on the property you are installing into and the total heat loss of the house. The Vaillant has the R290 refrigerant which all manufacturers are now heading towards whereas the Mitsubishi Ecodan is using R32.

I have this system for the last 10 years mine is the suba dancing fan have not had many problems in that time replaced a fan couple of times does not seem to be switching over now from heating to water the zones all seem to be in the locked position water and heating on together
@dorewoodman3 жыл бұрын
Hi James, Thank you for the comment. Do you have the Mitsubishi Pre Plumbed Cylinder? It sounds as though the diverter valve is stuck in a central position as it should only activate as just hot water or heating, never both. It could be caused by a worn out components or debris/deposits in the system that have caused it to wedge open or the actuator motor/solenoid has failed inside the diverter valve. Many thanks, Dore Woodman Ltd

@@dorewoodman what is pre plumed cylinder I have 300 litre tank 18 radiators there is 3 zones on it all was in locked position was getting no hot water so I forced it back which allowed the hot water in to the tank
@dorewoodman3 жыл бұрын
@@jamesanderson6405 The pre plumb cylinder is featured in this video. You may well have a 3rd party cylinder (different manufacturer) and a Honeywell V4044C diverter valve. Get it checked, likely to just need a new motorised part, you should be able to just change the Head.

I am reading that ecodans defrost cycle is set to come on when 5 degrees is reached , this seems excessive given the fluid in the system and that in the UK five is achieved often but it’s not freezing point or close , can it be altered to lower ?

Any chance of a diagram of the connection from the pump to the cylinder including a buffa tank ?
@dorewoodman3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason, I don't have a schematic as such but a Buffer could be Tee'd in before or after the Low Loss Header on the pre plumbed cylinder. It may not necessarily require a buffer on the system at all though, for example, the minimum water capacity in the heating system for the 8.5 kw Ecodan is just 12 litres and the 16 litres for the 11.2 kw. This will allow the heat pump to deal with the defrost cycle and keep them within the recommended cycles per hour.

Hi Jason I have 8.5kw ecodan with underfloor downstairs and rads upstairs, each zone downstairs has its own heatmiser room stats and a nest stat for upstairs, I have a cop of 2.3 on average, what would be the best way of setting it up? At the moment I removed the actuators on the manifold to keep the flow rate up and set the main controller which is in the hallway as the main stat.

I have one of those identical system in my home, I have come accross a code error L9, any suggestions in what i can do to fix that? i have tried multiple resets but no joy... thanks in advance
@dorewoodman2 жыл бұрын
It is due to a low flow rate, this can be caused by a blockage or an under performing pump on the main primaries between the cylinder and the heat pump so check the Y strainer (if one installed)

Well done mate,a very comprehensive video I had lot's of questions you covered them all👍, sorry just one question since it may not need a buffer tank dose it use an inverter generator heat pump
@dorewoodman2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sean, thank you for your comment. It is inverter driven and will modulate to suit. The defrost cycle only requires a relatively low quantity of water compared to other heat pumps. If you install a 3rd party cylinder you may want to consider a low loss header to help with the hydraulics, flow rates etc.

how much for the full 5kw system
@dorewoodman2 жыл бұрын
Hi B K, it really depends on the application, there are so many variables to consider depending on the property, age, heating emitters, heat pump placement etc. The cost could be anything in the region of £11k - £14k less the Boiler Upgrade Scheme voucher @ £5k if you are based in the UK.
