Does anyone know the minimum thickness at which the friction plate should be changed? The new friction plate thickness is 1.85-1.90mm. I have stripped a 6DCT450 from a Ford Galaxy and the plates are 1.80mm. The backing plate is 1mm thick which leaves approx. 0.45mm of friction material on each side (new), the worn plates are 0.40mm each side which equates to 11% wear. Are these good to go back in? Thanks

Quick question, the torque dampener, there was a ring that has some teeth sticking out pointing towards the circle. Exactly how does that go, it’s got a sorta bend in it & I just need to know that so I can put it in correctly.

I think I know what you mean, it should press into the damper. The torque damper has 4 areas that the ring snaps on and it helps it from preventing it to come out. I’ll try to make a video on it hopefully this weekend. Hopefully I answered your question.

@@Iyellatbabies I think I crushed my seal during the install. SSP sells the full replacement for $28 and It comes with 2 transmission seals, one transfer seal and one rubber seal.

@@josezamora7889 oh man, I just had a seal fail, but I believe it’s the axle seal. Didn’t mess with the seal inside the transmission, I think it’s just a seal & a ring outside

@@Iyellatbabies yeah I feel like I shouldn’t have opened the transmission lol, I could’ve changed the seal from the outside but oh well 🤷🏽‍♂️ you learn.
