Forks are awesome on a JCB. The naysayers who will tell you they'll bend might be right - but it's certainly worth fabricobbling them anyway. If they can be bent, they can be unbent. I was lucky and a friend (who also sold me the JCB) happened to have a set of real forks - but the fork bar was long gone. I had won a bid at the local agricultural auction for a full set of pins from a JCB - which just happened to be the same diameter as the fork bar.... So I veed them out and welded them all together into a fork bar. It's now a couple of years later and it's survived a lot of abuse. Really enjoying the series, hope the engine lift goes well!

Come on Damian. Ireland has no winter. Ergo no heater necessary. Cheers from Canada.

Opel Ampera-E has a nice 7.5kW immersion cabin heater that is self-regulating for power.

You can buy inline circulating heaters. We used to use them on pieces of equipment that didn't have block heaters.

I used a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV water heater cause I failed miserably at getting the Leaf Gen 1 heater working. It's lying in my garage if you want it.

The Model S/X battery heaters are cheap and plentiful, but might not have enough heating range for what you need.

How about some PTC heaters below the windshield for defrosting plus heated seats?

I'm curious to see how your coupler setup will run. Especially if the big boi bearing is up to the speeds.

HeyDamien - I am interested to know what size bearing you used for that center bearing? Reason I ask is the 40mm id ones that I have found are rated at a max of 4800 rpm. Which would most likely be fine if I use 3rd gear, but would be pushing the friendship if I use 2nd gear. And if I go for a bigger bearing the max rpm just Keeps dropping - down to 4300 rpm with a 55mm id. Great video btw!

Damien - Standard coolant preheater?

Cabin heat 🤔 ? Plenty of space above the battery pack for a solid fuel stove with back boiler, or a rocket stove with water jacket and a Prius inverter water pump 😂. You could use one of those diesel camper heaters . If all that fails you could fit electric A/C system with a reversing valve or just use the inline heater from an old Renault Trafic 1.9D that used a series of heater plugs to heat up the coolant quickly in winter .

Incorporate a clutch and flywheel as a safety disconnect incase it runs away on you electronically, you won't be able to get it in to neutral under load, you'll thank me later, nice to see the gearbox retained.

I know it's sometimes hard to believe but Damien is actually pretty knowledgeable about the safety aspects of converting cars to electric.
