Thank you for the video. It helped provide some useful information to resolve my issue. I had the same EV SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED error after replacing my front tyres with 2 x Michelin Primacy 4 (Audi (AO2)) 225/55 R18 Y (102), Reinforced. Mitsubishi confirmed all 4 tyres need to match in terms of spec/speed as per the handbook but didn’t offer specific tyre advice. I thought the higher load/speed rating (102 Y) would be ok as you can normally go higher but not not lower so decided I would buy 2 more of the same tyre for the back axle meaning all four tyres were the same tyre and thread depth. The previous thread depth on the old rear tyres was 3mm compared with 7mm for the new ones. I think it’s this tyre circumference difference between front and back axle when travelling over 40-50mph that causes the EV error as there will be a difference in revolutions which the EV system must monitor and have tolerances for. My EV error no longer displays. Note: When I bought the car it had a mix of pairs of tyres (Hancock and Toyo) but all had similar tread depth. I will be rotating the new tyres in future as per the handbook so the tread wear is evened out for all four tyres over their lifetime.

I have it on my car too after replacing a pair of tyres. It is because the tyre circumference not being the same on all wheels. I think the engine management system compares the revolutions on each wheel if there are is a difference outside a tolerance (not sure details of +/-?) the EV system service appears, only happens to me on longer journeys on the motorway. After turning the engine off and on again the message disappears. I've learnt to live with it but it is annoying.

In the hope it helps anyone looking at the in 2023. I decided to do an oil change on my PHEV. I jacked the front of the car up and placed on axle stands, got under and removed platic tray, drained oil, swapped oil filter. Lowered the car, refilled with correct oil. Went to run the petrol engine to re-check oil levels and got EV service error message. Engine won't start. No tyre changes or alterations other than jacking the vehicle. I checked all tyre pressures putting 2lbs in the front right and the message went away.

Hello guys, thanks for the video i would had never knew that tyres could cause these issue, my problem is that all tyres are with same specs and issue came after me replacing the front ones all are in 255/55/R18 98V What is your opinion?

I have outlander 2015 recently changed braks and done the service now I am getting EV system and ASC system service required. Reset the tyre pressures plus changed 2 tyres as they were almost gone. No issues with driving or with hybrid but message keeps on and staying when start driving 😞

It's nothing to do with load rating you only changed 2 tyres at a time so problem was difference in tread depths front to back, if you had bought two more Michelin's problem would have E been solved, issue with new evs

Sorry guys, but this problem must come from somewhere else, I bought my car used 3 years ago, and it came with 2 Yokohama 98ers on the front, 2 vredestein 102ers on the rear. never a single problem, not while using, not after changing from winter tires back. these numbers only specify max load for the tire, nothing else. the equipment on the car can't spot this difference (i have MY 2016). Problems only over 40mph suggest something else is/was wrong.

Update I finally simply solved this problem by changing my EV charger.

Worked for me as well by using different charger after this error . Just need to work out how to reset the system wondering if it’s a problem with sensors on axis.
