Can you make another video and explain what else was needed to do after the upgraded battery is installed? For example, does it need to be programmed in some way so the car recognizes the new modules, etc. It looks like you got the battery modules from the 13.8 kWh battery, so they are not exactly the same as the originals were. Did you have to do anything to make those different modules work correctly? For example, did you keep the original CMUs or you got the new ones which come with the new battery modules?

I'm having my outlander for battery replacement right now and it needs reprogramming and my car needed both cables replaced as the front cable connected to the ev engine was fried as its housing is built in aluminium and with salt on the roads during winter made it all eaten up. The back cable also needed replacement (the cable going up to the load port) mitsubishi wanted 1800€ for the back cable and 7800€ for 1 cell replacement. This shop I'm leaving my car to did 4000€ for same job with both cables. It also need a bmhi? Reset.

I’m curious as to why you didn’t just put the replacement pack in rather than swap the batteries

Really helpful, thank you. As the BMU's came with the 'new' battery, did you need to do any prgrammimg? My 2015 / 170,,000 12KWh pack has just failed, so mulling changing to a 13.8 by moving all 80 bare LEV46 cells over into my old 12KWn pack. Hoping BMU / BMS won't notice and that the cells aren't 'smart'!

I can now answer my own question. I swapped in the later LEV46 (13.8KWh) battery modules into my original pack. I labelled the BMUs and moved those plus each loom (with thermistors) over to the 'new' modules. As the car can only see voltages and the BMU's were effectively unchanged, no warnings, no programming. Predicted range remains similar as the trip doesn't know it's a bigger battery, but all that happens is that you do a bit better than predicted. I'm now getting a real 22-26 milles. Very happy!
