Mitsubishi Xpander - In The Spirit of Motorsport, Up Fraser's Hill With Pacenotes | YS Khong Driving

Mitsubishi has been associated with motorsport for many decades, and are well-known in the rally scene. Their card have won many victories in WRC, and the Dakar Rallies throughout the years.
When we were given this Mitsubishi Xpander for a review, we decided to do our own version of 'cosplay' and go into the role of 'the spirit of motorsport, by doing a pacenote run of the one-way climb up Frasers Hill.

Wow.....this was the moment that I met you and your team when you guys were filming this episode. It a pleasure and an honor to meet you Uncle Khong and your crews. Just have to respect you that the way you drove up that tiny whinny road up to Fraser's Hill. It looks so effortlessly for you. On such a narrow and winding road, I have a lot of respect for the driver and co-driver, which requires a lot of concentration and focus. I usually get dizzy if I need to read in the car, and the Navigator has no trouble reading pace notes. Thumbs up.

I would have chosen 16" with 225/60/16. The oversize would help exiting the corner at higher (no downshift) gear at higher speed. Michelin primacy 4 with Advanti storm S1 would be a great combo.

Yup, I do agree. The 18s were good looking, but yes, it did hold up the vehicle a little.

No offcence to the car, its an mpv after all but we know that its just to slow for you when the co driver have time to repeat the pace note and the word 'crest' was not followed by even the smallest hint that the car was running over some sort of crest or about to get some air time. Deep inside i really want to see it gain some air. Still, those coilover and rim+tire combo really keep the body roll in check and allow the car to hold clean line corner after corner or should i say made your job even easier and allow u to push slightly harder.

The co-driver is a proefssional co-driver, so he has plenty of time for his calls, but as you well know, this is in the spirit of motorsport and there are obvious limitations in engime power, but the drive was just as fun, and we are sharing it with our viewers, also no offence intended.
