During filming of this daily tune episode, there was construction taking place inside the shop. You'll hear construction noise, talking, and even some music in the background. We apologize for the distraction!

It's been 12 years since I went to Jeff to get tuned. I find it humorous how he still has the same distinct mannerisms that stuck out to me from my two tunes back then. Genuine enthusiasm talking about some creative budget build. Methodical routine in getting ready (sometimes what seems like unnecessary shifting of wires) Even that comment, "it feels like fall" for some reason stuck out to me. Anyway I mean this with full respect. You're a talented human being Jeff!

Hahaha, appreciate the way you spoke about the Ralliart. That platform has lots of potential. I'm pushing 450whp and 350tq with mine on e85. I recently dropped in some GSC S2s with springs and am waiting to tune. The only concern I have is that you use Cobb AP, open source is a better option for the Evo. And the only responsible option for the MR and Ralliart as it allows you to adjust tables directly related to the Dual clutch transmission.
@EvansTuning7 жыл бұрын
You are correct, ecu flash / open source is the only option for tuning the SST tables. I do tune open source on the X's now, and just recently tuned a clients Evo X MR with flex fuel / Tephra v3 rom. He put down 550 whp, and had upgraded Kozmic SST trans.

If I still had my evo x i would definitely bring it to you.

Hey man I've been interested in making tuning a career for a long time now and your videos really make me want to continue chasing my dream. How did you start? What can I do to learn
@kevinvines18467 жыл бұрын
I hear tons of people say stay away from the Accessport for the MR because it's lack of tuning capability for the SST. What are your thoughts on that? Excellent video full of info!
@EvansTuning7 жыл бұрын
Open source / ecu flash is the only option for properly tuning the SST trans.

Is this on pump fuel? 27psi?
@furtivepygmy73426 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeff, with just bolt ons and boost controller and tuning for conservative safe power do you recommend upgrading injectors, fuel pump, etc? With stock turbo on the Evo X. Not for power but for reliability, i dont want too high of a duty cycle on it.

How come when you take it to redline it holds the rpm as opposed to usually hit the limiter?
@133levi7 жыл бұрын
jdmegfan I would like to know that also
@T3KN0iD7 жыл бұрын
Take the limiter out (option) when programming the ECU.
@MannyFresh1x7 жыл бұрын
Its the way the dyno loads the car up. It can hold the rpm instead of banging off it.

Jeff I have a question, what's better bpv (recirculating) or bov (atmosphere) for a wrx? Which is better when you get a tune?

I wish I could get you to tune my ep3 but I'm in southern VA too dam far!

Can you give me your input on how much extra OF RELIABLE HP a stock evo x can gain after a tune without any upgrade to intake or exhaust? Is it worth to get a tune for evo x even stock form, cause like you said after a tune can help with the fuel efficiency...ect. ? And california only has 91 octane just fyi. Thanks

What's happening with the MR2? I always see it in the background on the grass but guessing that's someone else's?
@EvansTuning7 жыл бұрын
Its ours, and for sale. Just a clean stock MRS with the rare factory hardtop option.

Ah ok, wasn't sure if it was going to feature at some point considering a built engine can run 600bhp+

How is the in-cabin drone on the highway with that exhaust?
@derrickt.55617 жыл бұрын
Jon Roberts Tanabe Medalion Touring. Not too bad. Minimal to none below 70mph. Cruising steady 75 very little but when you give it some gas it becomes somewhat noticeable. Doesn't bother me at all.

Why would the CAT getting hot cause knock?
@EvansTuning7 жыл бұрын
When the cat gets hot, it starts to flow less. As a result, that increases backpressure, which can result in knock.
@ricklp107 жыл бұрын
Evans Tuning as you have tons of empirical knowledge I believe you, but I can't really think of a reason why that would be the case? They become less efficient at catalyzing if they are over hearted but that wouldn't effect the flow. I also would think any thermal expansion of the honeycomb would have a negligible effect on flow aswell?

COBB Access port for the Evo X sucks. Any legit tuner would steer far away from using one.
