Incredible work thank you for the making of this video to give a glimpse of the beautiful work behind the craft of beautiful instruments. May you all continue to thrive and be relevant for the rest of time, this is beautiful art and I hope one day I may too be able to make musical art with one of your majestic creations! Sincerely, Vi An (Canada/Vietnam).

It’s kinda strange how they used a Chinese song played on a Guzheng zither as the BGM for this. Would make more sense using a Japanese tune played by one of their Kotos. Perhaps this track was added by a fan.

So crazy hearing how much individual plucks sound like a banjo, but the inflection just transforms it into this ancient masterpiece.

It seems like, from the comments, they actually are making a chineze instrument that (predated? according to wikipedia) the Koto, but with their traditional koto-making techniques. I've got to say, I think I'm going to give it a try for making a koto (using the 13 string koto tunings and whatnot).

Nice video, showing how a koto is made. Nice music too!

...not a koto, a gu zheng, the "grand father" of a koto... main differences are the count of strings, shape and measures...

Dear Westerners ( lol I sound those Ali's express sale rep's) This company normally makes Kotos. However, recently they use koto's methods to implement making guzhengs. They sound amazing. Well, their methods could trace back to Tang's period. Last but not least, these guzhengs are expensive as f&^%*, and they are costing about 12k to 15k.
@lucaskaasbll23103 жыл бұрын
But it makes sense that they are so expensive, some of the guzhengs and kotos they make has up to 60-year aged rose wood and many other woods but most of them are 40-year aged. But that is still a long time. And one of the guzhengs in the wedding series has 18k or 24k real gold string holes and the decoration on it is hand sewn real gold and silver threads. So it is clearly a luxury!

It hardens the wood, making it more resonant.
