@@zeke2688 no worries! Budget was my biggest reason, but I also do all my work on Windows so the switch to android was long overdue. It was getting exhausting for me to try to figure out ways to transfer photos from my iPhone to my windows-formatted hard drives. I think I'm due for a media transfer soon too and I'm just so glad I'm no longer trying to work with two different OSs. I also enjoy how customizable android is.

Very useful presentation. Thank you. I ‘ve found almost all of the settings you mentioned on a Redmi 9 global version, but I have never seen ads, or those setting on my Note 4. So I wander, older Xiaomi don’t have adds, or only the cheaper models had and have? I disabled the ads settings on the Redmi 9, but do I have to do it every time the MIUI is updated or not?

I had switched to a Redmi Note 9 in September 2020, and after just THREE days when I was listening to music from the built-in music app, it just replaced the cover art with a square ad. I swear by it, nothing had flipped me off that much while using a phone when that happened. I immediately went ahead to settings and revoked all internet access to the music app, thank God we can do that on Xiaomis

1 simple tip, just change the region to United Kingdom boom... Your 90% ad will disappear! Seriously it works. Note: you will not be able to use Themes, Wallpapers, Vault.

Long story short got this exact phone, turns out a lot of applications are incompatible with it (cameras, google one, bank payment app etc). Since I had too many issues when configuring it (including the most important application, the CALLING application crashing mid calls), I immediately refunded it. The phone itself might be "wow", but it's software, user interface and experience (really? Ads in system applications?) is an absolute nightmare. TL;DR: today I learned to skip everything MIUI related. If you want a good experience choose from the vast majority of android phones that are very good, or go with a plain and simple iphone.

I didn't notice these Ads to begin with, but I disable them anyway. Redmi Note 9 Pro is a great device I really like it. Its fast, doesn't lag, works like a charm, does everything I need and more and has insane value... no complains there :3

it is just disgutsing you already pay for the phone and buy the ui and it still play ads and continue geet profit . On low end device it will make it more lag and slow respond
