One great thing to come out of this movie was my discovery of the Roy Orbison song. Adrian Lyne's movies have a vibe of a claustrophobic dream.

The music when they're on the pier, all the orchestral music in the movie, and the final song ("in all the right places") composed by John Barry (dances with wolves, out of Africa, somewhere in time, peggy sue got married, born free, most of the james bond movies, high road to China, midnight cowboy, Howard the duck, and 76 other movies if you can believe it (I'm including the bond movies in the remaining 76)). The roy orbison song was written by roy himself and the ex leader of the band Electric Light Orchestra, Jeff Lynne. (If you know elo, you can hear their sound very distinctively in the song). Too much info, but I'm really a big John Barry fan. Imho, I think the most amazing theme Barry wrote was for this movie (ind. proposal). Not the best made movie he composed for, but the most beautiful score in any movie. Just fyi, he also composed the score for Hanover Street, starring Harrison Ford.......great music.
