I don't really get the hate on this package. This is literally what I felt Flutter was lacking, fundamental primitives that you can compose to create layouts and style components and with ease, instead of having a set of predefined Widgets with really limited funcionality that you are forced to nest over and over with no way to easily share and customize things.

It just like flex_color_scheme package if you familiar with it, You will understand the use of it when you try to add more than one theme to your app

Its use is for reusable styled widgets so that you can build your own UI styles and library and have a uniform style accross your app, conforming to a design system. Its use is not for single developpers (although...), but rather targetted at larger companies that want that kind of maintainability and ease of use of not thinking about styling to have the app conform to some design decisions.

@@Dogeek then what is theme data for? Also the whole point of flutter is to do this, to create your own shared widget library for reuse, this almost goes against it

It is useful if you make your own color tokens for your design system..for me it really useful

It's will change the process of making design system in flutter! I guess Mix will be popular in community in next quarter. ThemeData try to solve that too, but it tighten with Material. Mix on the other hand, have flexible and mirroring with core functional widget (Column, Row, Container, etc).

pls delete this video and pls don't promote packages like these. Don't make Flutter like CSS. In no time we will have newbie developers using different techniques of making UI like this. I will prefer the standard and consistent approach (that is great enough already) rather than these useless abstractions which make no sense to seasoned developers.

This is definitely one POTW that’s simply to risky to start using in a production app. It lives throughout the entire UI. I’d love to see UI work become more streamlined and less verbose in the Flutter SDK thought!
