Ingredients:
2 medium sliced onion
200g chopped potato
1/4 tsp red chili powder
1/4 tsp salt (as rq)
1 bay leaf
1 tsp cumin seeds
250g (2 medium) sliced onion
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
250g sliced tomatoes
1-2 green chilies sliced
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 big tsp each red chili powder, cumin powder and coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
200g (1.5 cups) mixed veg
1 tsp of salt (as rq)
2 cups of basmati rice
4 cups of water
1 tsp salt (as rq)
chopped parsley/coriander leaves
1 tsp garam masala powder
Procedure:
In a pot, add some oil and 2 medium sliced onion. Fry to make it birista onion. (This is for garnish.)
Remove and keep it aside
Add 200g chopped potato and fry till the color changes.
Transfer to a plate. Add 1/4 tsp red chili powder and 1/4 tsp salt (as rq). Mix well and keep it aside.
In the pot, add 1 bay leaf, 1 tsp cumin seeds, and 250g (2 medium) sliced onion. Fry until it turns golden brown.
Add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste. Fry well.
Add 250g sliced tomatoes. Fry it a little. Cover and cook until it becomes soft. Mix a little.
Add 1-2 green chilies sliced, 1 tsp garam masala powder, 1 big tsp each red chili powder, cumin powder and coriander powder, and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
Mix well.
Add 200g (1.5 cups) mixed veg and 1 tsp of salt (as rq). Mix.
Add 2 cups of basmati rice (soaked for 10 mins) and fried potatoes. Mix carefully for 2-3 mins.
Add 4 cups of water and 1 tsp salt (as rq). Mix.
Cover and cook on high flame until it boils. Lower the flame once boils and cook it for 15 -20 mins or until done.
Mix well and add chopped parsley/coriander leaves, birista onion and 1 tsp garam masala powder. Cover and cook for 2-3 mins.
