Adjustable Hiss-Volume with optional ducking would be great. All theese Noise Effects should come with picht bendig options so that you can use them more musicaly. The Super VHS by Baby Audio for example would Sound way more versatile with those options too

Studio One has a Porta Cassette integrated in to the mixer (after purchase and install.) and can either affect all channels, busses or master only. It even changes the pitch of the entire project by turning one knob if that's what you like. Push the drive knob harder and every thing sounds glued and tighter. Only downside is you need studio one to run this plugin, it's not a plugin you can run outside of S1

Nice! There are few good Tape emulations already. The Arturia TAPE MELLO-FI has also flutter and wow and wear, mechanics, noise. And actually the NEOLD WARBLE does about the same thing and this one really has its own magic. I like that this one has different types of tapes though, something that TAUPE from Acustica has, but that one is simple and also has a different magic.

You can't have mix knob whenever there is time (and pitch) modulation. It'll give you constant, unpredictable phase issues.

Right before I clicked Play: Is it better than OSC-45 and Sketch Cassette II though? Right after I clicked Played and watched: It's Wow and Flutter are different than Sketch Cassette II's but Sketch Cassette II is analog emulation tape king in conjunction with VST3: TEAC A-6100 MKII (IK Multimedia)'s Analog EQ built in the plugin.

Why use accurate tape effects when making music for a buying/streaming audience that's never heard music played on a tape machine?

For the same reason you use a real guitar for people who never played one. Or never seen a delay. Or even know what's a reverb. Do mechanics only use the tools their clients know of to fix their cars? Do chefs only use the ingredients their customers have in their fridge at home? What kinda illogical question that is?

Try out the free demo. It's 14-day fully functioning. One thing different in Tapewave is that the tape saturation circuit and tape style effects use detailed physical modeling, rather than the more basic waveshaping / soft-clipping effect used in other plugins of this nature. The Loc mode of the compressor is actually a incredibly close model of the compression / limiting of the classic Shure Level Loc hardware. We also used a custom fine-tuned Perlin noise function, modeled after real tape wow / flutter in order to get the random side of the wow / flutter engine, which sounds more realistic than the random LFO shapes other plugins tend to use for this effect. In addition, high resolution oversampling ensures things stay smooth when using it. I hope this helps :)

David is using an earlier pre-release build of the plugin. The release version of course has the reel moving in the correct motion, along with a few other little under the hood enhancements too 👍 And we do know about tape, I've personally been using it for 20+ years, and as a company we've recorded countless sounds and music through a wealth of different analog tape machines and cassette decks. One of the p[re-release builds simply had a misunderstanding with the animation graphics which was of course corrected once we informed the development team :)
