I don't understand. Why 4x(7/12) equals 55/12 and not 28/12? My first answer was (28/12)x(4/5)=112/60... I'm lost here

because 4 is a whole number that means there are 4 wholes (complete fractions like 12/12 which equals 1). 4 7/12 = 12/12 + 12/12 + 12/12 + 12/12 + 7/12 = 55/12 Hope this helps!
