\die cutting machines such as the ones I mentioned (Big shot & Cuttlebug) are for home use and you buy them for your self. There are masses of tutorials on YT on how to use them and showing different shapes - It is easier when you see a visual to understand how they work. You can also Google some of the companies that make dies such as Sizzix, Spellbinders, Cheery Lynn, Memory Box to see the range of shapes currently on offer.

Hi, the Umbrella man and the fence are cut from "dies" - These are pieces of metal that have a shape etched into them. You need a die cutting machine to use them. Basically, You lay your card or paper over the top of the die & the sharp metal edges of it cut through the paper, and cut out your shape when you roll it through the machine. There are lots of demos on YT if you look for "How to use a Bigshot" How to use a Cuttlebug" - These are the most popular brands of machine.

A bit of both, sometimes if I have an idea, I'll make a quick sketch of what I want to do. This piece evolved simply because I wanted to make use of the umbrella man die - It was going to be a tag, but I didn't like it, so cut off the umbrella, then when playing with the pieces, the idea came to turn it upside down to hold something - the rest, well, you can see what happened on the video :-)

I use an inkjet. All printers respond differently - I have a Canon printer which seems pretty good in terms of not smudging, but I still need to be quite light handed. My old HP was completely different and would smudge as soon as wet medium touched it making it pretty useless for this application. That said, spraying with a fixative should help if done carefully.

The Lumieres and Silks are actually pretty similar, so yes, you could use either. The Silks are a new product to me, so I guess that influenced my using them. They are actually acrylic glazes, though as you can see can be built up in layers to produce intense colour. They have a larger colour range than the Lumieres, though I still love Lumieres too.

It's Tulle Fabric - anything synthetic fabric will melt like that and get holes in too. You have to be a little cautious though as some give off pretty nasty fumes when heated, so best to keep a window open :-)

I cut Umbrella man out of a cardstock initially, but then stuck him onto chipboard off camera as I decided the cardstock wasn't thick enough - so he might look like he's put some weight on halfway through the video lol

The glue I used in this video was Golden Soft Gel Medium at the start - for all the paper weight items, and later Glossy Accents for the metal pieces and heavier embellishments. if you are new to art / craft - I would say glossy accents is a must. It is made by Ranger and has lots of other applications - Again try a YT search for demos including Caught In Crystal Technique & using it as a glossy top coat - Actually, I use it as glossy top coat in my altered domino video if you want to see :-)

I absolutely love your work! I'm always checking back for new videos! I have just completed a larger panel inspired by your ideas, I couldn't get luminarte silks in time (it was a gift) so used acrylic medium mixed with alcohol ink & extender to get the right consistency, an expensive way to do it, but I was quite pleased with the results. If you'dlike to take a peek, check out Bert & Daisy Designs on FB, looking forward to more of your work! I've just joined you on Ustream too. xx

Hi, I just love it, I kept looking at the time, thinking 'what else is she going to do to it'? Then, wham, onto another part!! Just fantastic! I have what might be a dumb question, you use Silks Acr on this one and Jacquard Lumiere Acr on the Dragonflies piece~is it because of what you used to make each one, or did you just like the colors better? Could one use the paints from the Dragonflies piece on the Gothic one? From an artless viewer!!

This is soooo FREAKY, SPOOKY, AWSOME!!!!!!!! I love it. Watching this shows me alotof techiques and gets my imagination going, gives me alot of ideas. Like, It would look cool to put the modeling paste you did under the cat and around the picture, but then wipe it off and across the whole picture to give it like a heavy fog look. And maybe I would add flocking to the cat and oh, some more of that texture stuff on the skull, wow you've got my brain working over time lol. Enjoy your talent

shes using matte medium, glossy accent, gel medium, and texture paste...but the main glue is the glossy accents in the bottle thats used on pretty much everything because it sticks to everything pretty much but the glue used with the brush is most likely the matte medium or gel medium...sorry I know you want her answer but I thought I would give you a heads up on what they are in case she doesn't see this Rach, your work is amazing, you know I love it. On this video I can't see the two products names you use after the GOLDEN Gel Mediums Soft Gel (Semi-Gloss). Can you tell me all the products you use for this painting project? A fan of your work, Tina :)
