I use Inktense on Gesso in addition to watercolour paper and they are wonderfully transparent.

Thanks for this video! Can you use this over gesso or acrylics? If you draw, but don't set it with water will it smear if you varnish or put acrylic paint over it? Thanks.

Thank you for this demo, Cat! I forgot Inktense can be used on fabric and that I can stain lace and other fabric collage pieces! I have the same inkblocks, the largest set of pencils for use in the studio and a a set of 12 pencils that came in a roll-up canvas holder with room for a few extra pencils, waterbrush, sharpener and eraser, perfect for outdoors and travel! It would be the number one art supply I would take with me on a journey! I love using a waterbrush with them as it is so quick and easy. I also thought using them on wet paper is a great technique. They are so wonderfully transparent! I top product!

Sadly my viewers have reported some Inktense are not permanent 😉 so I would use a spray fixative.

when using the pencils just add a little more water and/or brush it a few more times and the texture of the paper will no longer be evident. Thanks for new ideas!

I have the inktense blocks, and it doesn’t matter how I use them, they’re not permanent. I completely dissolve the pigment in a china dish, paint with it, but even after leaving it to dry for a day, I can reactivate it exactly like watercolour. Has anyone got any advice?
