Oh wow I love Daniel with those legs! I have to agree with you on switching limbs. Just recently I was commissioned to make a custom order baby and my client requested to switch limbs to suit her preference better. So yes, it’s totally normal in our community. I’ve got a quinbee and Twyla kit I love Twyla hands more than quinbee but I love quinbee face so I’m planning to get them painted by the same artist and have quinbee with Twyla arms xx

It’s so common for artists to switch limbs. I don’t mix and match kits, because I’m a weirdo and I like to keep the kits intact (especially limited or rare kits) sometime though, limbs can have defects and need to be switched out. I noticed that folks are being accused of painting counterfeits now based on switched limbs etc. which I think is totally unfair. I’ve never heard someone call them Mutts before 😮 As a collector I’m sure it’s fun to change things up and switch them around here and there. You enjoy your collection the way you want to enjoy the collection.

I absolutely prefer buying the dolls from a complete kit - never actually purchased a mix and match kit before, but if I had extra funds I would get myself an extra set of NB limbs for the little ones in my collection 😂. What really bothers me is this new thing of people saying mixed kits are not authentic - very messed up way to put it and confusing to all new collectors out there. I also forgot to mention how most of artists use various sculpts belly plates for the kits with no plate feature and that is so very normal these days. I personally prefer when the kit remain complete, BUT I am very picky with the kits I choose. I usually do not really like babies with closed hands since I feel like the photos do not come out as realistic as when they have open hands with expressions. 😂 But that’s just me! Still, I feel like people in the community do AS THEY PLEASE. It’s THEIR dolls.

I have switched the legs on Sam purely for fun just because I have another doll with more desirable limbs here at home and they are the same size. And I can always go to original legs when I get bored. But yes, I prefer to buy sculpts which I love in their entirety. ❤️❤️❤️

If I like the doll, because I love smiling babies, sometimes some of their limbs are 3/4. I don’t like that because of outfits I would put on them. But they are from an authentic sculptor. Right now o am looking for just a Tink head. Don’t ask what happened to mine. Lol. I have rest of her finished. Love that baby and that sweet little romper

Lol, you got my attention now with your Tink head story 😜🤣. I wanna know what happened last summer with the Tink head. Sounds so interesting, lol. But on the serious note - yes, I totally agree with you and I am all pro experimenting these days. As long we use withering kits, I really do not see any issue with mixing up the kits. Hi Katie and Charlie, it's very interesting topic,yes. I have Sammie by Adrie Stoete ( a have her since 2018), and she came with Eric 's limbs. I love this baby and to me doesn't matter that she has Eric 's limbs ( ofcourse from the same artist A. Stoete). But on the adher hand I have Maeve by Cassie Brace she is limitted edition kit and so I prefer to heve her with hers original limbs. Huge hugs to you and Charlie ❤❤😘😘🥰🥰

I switched the legs only because I have the baby from the same artist with the same skin tone, and it was just for fun. In the end of the day I can put both babies back together with their original limbs. Not devaluing the LE kit in any way. It sure is fun to experiment tho, isn’t it? 😘❤️😍❤️🙏🏻
