Ah when I read My Heart is a Chainsaw, I often had to double back on sentences because I wasn’t understanding what I was reading. My reading comprehension did not vibe with his writing style and I don’t know if I will pick up more by him because of it - but glad to see I wasn’t the only one😅 The premise of Dead Silence sounds ao interesting but I’ve only heard average reviews of it

haha i knew immediately you were going to say that Dont Fear the Reaper was kind of confusing. his style is so odd and sometimes it is hard to follow - before i read book 3 i did a huge deepdive to remind myself about books 1 & 2. BUT, i have to say book 3 doesnt disappoint and is my personal favorite of the trilogy and the only one to get 5 stars. i found it easier to follow, more emotional, and he nails the ending!

I read Dead Silent a while a go and enjoyed it. I liked not knowing if they were dying off because of something paranormal/alien or something more grounded. Kept me intrigued and I wasn't disappointed when everything was revealed.

I’ve read the Only Good Indians by SGJ and found it a little confusing too. So I’m not sure if I should read the new series. You should read Into the Drowning Deep, it’s about killer mermaids. It’s sci fi horror.

The general plot of Dead Silence sounds very much like the movie Event Horizon, which appears to have been an adaptation of the book by the same name. Would love to hear your thoughts on it!

I don't like it at all when they "describe" what happened to them to someone else. One of the reasons is exactly what you mentioned: they survive, that's already a huge spoiler
