Thank you so much, Crystal. It hurts to hear gardeners saying they sprayed and all their plants died, because it usually means they sprayed during the heat of the day or they added too much concentrate per gallon of water. Have a blessed Sunday.

Yes indeed, Bill. Definitely need to push back against the pest pressure, especially you, as a market gardener now. Customers like plants as free of insect damage as possible. The backpack sprayers are great too.

We use 511 regularly. We never thought about mixing Neem oil with it. We will definitely give it a try to control the bugs. We will use it on our fruit trees also. What do you fertilize your blueberry plants with? Thanks for the tip . Have a good week
@EssayonsFG
@EssayonsFG Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. We try to find any ways to save time we can managing the garden. The blueberries are pretty low maintenance. We spray them every quarter when we do the fruit trees and add compost around them once a year in the Spring. Occasionally we will chop and drop comfrey around them too. Have a wonderful week

How much does it cost for the growing season in your area? Do you spray weekly or monthly?
@EssayonsFG
@EssayonsFG Жыл бұрын
These bottles last us several years as we only add a few tablespoons/capfuls per gallon of water, so maybe a couple dollars per year on average. We start spraying in May and stop around late September, depending on the weather. We try not to spray more than twice per month of the fish fertilizer but may do the neem weekly if we have high pest pressure.

You didn't show the ratio that you mixed before spraying
@EssayonsFG
@EssayonsFG 4 ай бұрын
The ratios will vary depending on what method you are spraying with. I use an ounce of each per gallon in regular hand held spray pump but double that when using a hose end sprayer for our sized garden. You may need more or less depending on your garden size.

thanks for the great idea! do you have fungal issues in your garden? if so, does the neem oil help you, or do you use copper fungicide? i live in a very high humidity place, so it's something i have to deal with, unfortunately. also, do you apply the fish fertilizer to the roots as well? thank you.
@EssayonsFG
@EssayonsFG 3 ай бұрын
We rarely use copper fungicide but do keep some on hand, just in case we get a problem area. The spray does drip down into the soil so the roots benefit from the neem and fish fertilizer also.
