don't get it confused, i understand what you're saying but the vocal didn't get brighter it just got more thinner which means you took out the body of the vocal and left the highs. so the lows didn't really go anywhere else as that's not possible. you only took out the frequencies in the vocal that was fighting for space with a heavy 808 beat like this, this also depend on the mic as you say, them podcast mic can be boomy , vocals just setting up there in the hi hats frequency, the eq in the slate digital rack did the trick at the end when you boost it..sounds good tho, like 24

good point , i think ima make a video on eq in general bc i had the worst prob with that ! i use to try to get my clarity by boosting but i found out the more u create space as u said away from other instruments its WAY easier to get a good vocal sound. i use to ALWAYS be boosting while already cutting so many lmf and mf out which just made my vocals harsh

@@DrumdummieTV i got you, its always best to cut than boost as you say, things get harsh really quickly with just boosting i believe you did it the right way, I just wanted to add in the part about the vocals got brighter because when you take out the low it goes somewhere else but Its more like perceive loudness because human ears are more sensitive to higher frequencies. its like a clipper, the sound is playing at the certain frequency and with the clipper making it louder the range of the sound don't move, So i would say this is the equivalent of taking out frequency in vocal but some how it sound more bright but only because you're only hearing the top end of the vocal but the highs wasn't boosted are jump in range but more of lower in range while it sound like it was boosted..when you cut frequency in vocal its more easier to tame with de-esser then you can add back the highs in later and get a more smooth high end

wassgood drumdummie, preciate u giving knowledge to the community💯 a video over recording and vocal tracking in Fl would be helpful if u could do that and if possible could u speak to the importance of leveling during the recording process?

Loved how you gave insight on the textures being added to the vocals! That made it so much more interesting to the ears. Great vid!

Serial compression typically means you’ve used a compressor in succession of another compressor(usually a LA2A into an 1176). In this instance you’ve used an LA>EQ>1176. Great video nonetheless💎
