I have always loved that specific Detroit sound and energy. In the early 90's they all came to my favorite club FUSE in Brussels. It's lock down now, but that feeling of freedom you get when these guys play cannot be taken away from us :-) Techno forever!

take a trip to detroit, it's the only place they play their best ... it's unfortunate but true - it is what it is...not demf. best rolando/ur set i've seen by far was at a sunday afternoon buffet in the worst hood in the D with local families eating and dancing. kids and all. detroit pride.

We were both in our early teens me and my cousin DJ Glenn Underground when we both relatively unknowns at the beginning when Housemusic was just about blow-up when it did in Chicago and a tall skinnyoung Derrick String's of life" May was sharing a set on the Technics 1200s at a private underground House party at an underground downstairs Popeye's Chicken that was closed for the night and we were on one side with our Crew and Derrick and Transmat was on the other side spinning and decided to go over and challenge Derrick thinking he was some sort of House music pushover we could let him hear some of our Trax and shutem down oh well big friggin mistake we let him hear some of the Trax we did and we thought we had him impressed that is until he played some of the nude photo and Transmat stuff he was just about to release that summer and I just calmly pulled the headphones off my head and walked away over to outside of the equipment and slidown into a defeated andisgraced samurai warrior stance trying to wrap my head around wtf I'd just heard him play cuz he had played a few bars of what we later found out was that piano arpeggio part of "String's of Life" when I heard that shit I warned my cousin DJ Glenn Underground never ever think about challenging Derrick May or any of that Original Reese/Sanderson/JuanAtkins/Stacey Pullen Clique!
