I listened to your program and i am getting to like the reality aspect of the social behaviours that affected the life of men and women from all socio economic community. I was married to a man that was 3 times my age. I had two sons for him and life was challenging for us because he was jealous of the fact that I was too young to Be in love with him, yes, I did, I wanted to settle down early in life and have my children and career life in balance. However, my husband died from a blood pressure accident while he was visiting his his children Jamaica. I am located in Canada and it is very hard to be alone, my grown son for him is out of control because his father is not anymore alive again.but I worked hard to alleviate the loneliness. 😊

You said it . I'm not single, but I can tell you that if you're successful, most men can't handle it. I experienced that with my 1st husband. Remember that when the men in Jamaica they beat their chest. But abroad women have earning power and sometimes the women are the bread winner. The men might not have a job or lost their job. They expect you to pay the bills, put money in their pocket and yet they're not helpful at home. So you feel burdened and under pressure. Why are you then supporting kids and a man and working hard both in the homes and out. The man on the phone sounds like one of them. Sounds controlling. He's lying, period. I spent only 10years of my life in Jamaica. I grow up in Canada and get the shock of my life how arrogant Jamaican men are. They're bossy, and they cheat every chance they get. My ex-husband used to always go out with his friends and I worked and occupied my life with the kids. I never go to clubs like he said. Now I'm retired, and the relationship I'm in,I'm in it for 20 years, and he's Jamaican but different from the typical Jamaican man. I'm a professional person, a university grad, and very intelligent. I know when something is not right. I'm not gonna have a man treat me like his daughter or he my pimp. I find that if you work good money, they think they win the lottery. In a relationship, there is such a thing as partnership.

We women are forced to be independent because most of these men forget how to take care of their families: women with ambition often times have to put their children first take care of themselves, the home, going back to school etc. after all these things we have to buy our own house because some of the men will let us know that they are not buying no house with no woman: therefore we have to do everything on our own and if and when you start to date them they start to feel insecure once they start to come around you. I was never a miserable woman because I don’t like to be stressed out: I like a man to take charge but most of the time they become jealous of the woman for what they have and that is very sad.

Good morning Damien and the listeners..the topic..' this is 2024....there should be no relevance if fur example the woman, is educated and has a career, surely, the point in any union between two persons- is that there is respect and love. On the other hand, we have seen in too many cases where e.g., the woman has low education and no job, she is NOT respected, she is used and often made to feel that treatment is normal. We as a society is stuck in the dark ages...if it upsets the partner that much, don't disrespect, show respect by elevating himself, do then he and that beautiful lady can enjoy a nice life together, just my opinion.

Well in listening to the callers and reading the text I have come to the conclusion that the common consensus is that age seem to determine how a woman looks. That is very incorrect my aunts are 75 and one 85 and they are fantastic looking. The 85 yr old go to the gym every day and dance class. She looks fabulous always being hit in by men half her age. The 75 year old will run circles around most 20 year old fit and trim and classy. They have both taught me that a woman age is her business. Looking at myself o e will not be able to guess ny age I look fabulous better than a lot of these younger women I see these days. Women these days show all the wares so a man is not left to their imagination. We as woman should keep sone things exclusive between ur man and urself.

Let me comment on what the caller Mario said about the women who party at age 25 while men at the same age planning for future. I want to no what are the statistics he has? Because in Canada majority of island women are more likely educated and have greater earning power. Alot of successful black men go after white women. Few of them marry their own. Most hardworking independent woman build themselves from nothing so we expect a man to do the same.
