This is a seriously biased review. I don’t own either the Anbernic RG35XX or the Miyoo Mini+, so I don’t have a horse in this race. However, I’ve seen enough reviews of both to know you’re definitely being overly forgiving of the mini+ in this review whilst absolutely savaging the RG35XX for the same deficiencies in your review of that device. The RG35XX is only slightly larger than the Mini+, with size being a point you absolutely fixated on with the RG35XX, whilst barely mentioning it here for the Mini+. You were highly critical of the specs of the RG35XX, even though they are better specs than both the Miyoo products, whilst basically saying the Mini+ is fine for anything up to PS1, when in fact it struggles with a number of PS1 titles on the stock firmware that run fine on the Anbernic. You savaged the build quality of the RG35XX because the shoulder buttons were not to your liking and a STICKER was upside down, whilst ignoring that is uses thicker plastics giving it more rigidity than the Mini+, which also has many many reports of either the whole screen detaching, or the layers of the screen delaminating. Lastly, you were entirely dismissive of the extra features of the RG35XX - dedicated reset button, HDMI out (“who would use it”) and the significantly cheaper cost. When you are competing directly with channels such as “Retro Game Corps”, who provide superb reviews which are both more technical and in-depth than yours, you last thing you need to do is add a credibility issue in the form of an obvious bias to your situation.

He does nitpick at certain features or functions and they become his whole reason for either bashing or praising a device. I personally own the Miyoo Mini and don't have plans on getting the plus or the rg35xx, but if I had to... I'd pick the RG35xx. It just seems more solid, Garlic OS is maturing at an alarming rate, PS1 games seem to run better and there is no stock issue.

I love the screen size in comparison to my RG280M, but it's scary how easily the Miyoo Mini+ screen can fall out or have light bleed. Got mine in the post yesterday and definitely had to press the screen back into place 🤞😆

@@hoboobum my screen was only slightly loose, so pressing it back into place wasn't difficult. If your screen has completely dislodged, I would check to see how much glue was used. If there's enough glue, I would just warm it up with a blowdryer and press the screen back into place, otherwise you're going to have to look up a good adhesive option on the subreddit.

The best way to play GBA games is an Anbernic RG351P or RG351M since both those models share the 3:2 screen aspect ratio the latter Gameboy advance had.

I am genuinely upset that Redditors and scalpers ruined the entire Miyoo Mini ecosystem worse than they did the Amiibo back in 2017. When the Amiibo first launched, they were just taking up shelf space like Funko Pops, people maybe buying one of their favourite character to try them out. But then BAM, EVERYBODY HAD TO COLLECT EVERY ONE OF THEM and just created this disgusting market where you had to either camp outside of stores for each release or pay stupidly high prices, often $50+ for an Amiibo. The exact same thing ended up happening with the Miyoo Mini, and I am simply going to avoid the headache and not worry about or buy any Miyoo products until the company can reliably manufacture enough product to meet demand AND when the Redditors and scalpers stop controlling the accessibility of the products.

Well there’s enough people out there who are not comfortable with Batocera. I even prefer messing with Android over Batocera because I can go emulator by emulator and be done while Batocera always feels like you need a full day to get an update done at least to me. Same for EmuElec systems

Why is everyone rambling so much about availability? I ordered my Mini+ on Aliexpress, it was sent out on the next day and arrived after a week. Sure, I paid 30% more than I would for an Anbernic 35XX, but the MM+ has a few advantages over it. WiFi, better color options, larger battery, better d-pad out of the box (35XX needs modding), better pocketability thanks to smaller size (while retaining 3.5" screen) and bumpers that are flush with the housing, and don't rattle as much as on 35XX...

One of the most annoying things with this console is it doesn't have an RTC (real-time clock) chip on it. So if you're playing something like Pokémon or another game with time based events the lack of it will mess up with them. A soft fix can be made with a third party app which checks time over wifi, but it's kinda buggy. I would like to know about this in the past, but now I already spend 65 usd

Small side note, the rattling of the shoulder buttons can actually be very easily fixed with electrical tape if you've seen any of those existing vids. The Dpad mod to make hadoukens and shoryukens more reliable are a little more tricky but very possible. It's just impossible to describe in the comment section without a video.

I just got mine. Paid a tad more to get it on Amazon with Prime 2-day shipping. I didn't get the fancy cardboard slide-out box, but I did get a Miyoo branded case. Which is nice. I also bought a 128gb sd card to replace the cheapo sd card it comes with. I got the Atomic Purple one, though I dislike the ABXY button color. I'll probably buy some replacement black buttons eventually to match the Atomic Purple GBC better. So far, I'm really liking it. Plays whatever I toss at it so far, and the screen is really nice. It's also not as cramped as I thought it was gonna be. I've put OnionOS and my own roms on the sd card.

Nobody can buy one is probably exaggerated since we know that already around 10000 has been sold. But I admit that it's not easy to get one ! I will add that we (Onion Team) speak with Miyoo on some firmware stuffs and I can tell that they work hard on their stock OS to improve it. Sometime we also ask for native FW modifications and they help ! So I can tell that they are really implicated in the developpement of their OS. The RG35xx is a great device, just mention that there no wifi and Garlic is not an open source project so no one can participate to improve it. But fortunately for the dev community of the RG now there is MinUI from Shaun which is open source. In few times Onion will reveal that one of the best feature of the Mini+ is the wifi thanks to retroachivements, Netplay, FTP server, and many incoming surprises ;)

If your wanting to get a handheld gaming device the original Sony PSP was absolutely awesome running emulators! Putting the custom firmware on use to be hard at first because you had to make a Pandora battery, but then Hen came out and you can use it to update to custom firmware or activate hen each start up! I love how small these ones are and can absolutely see why people want em!

Got mine today. Massively disappointed as mine has input lag, gaming lag, and screen flickering. Don't have any of these issues with my RG35XX which has been pretty perfect after months of use. If there's no fix I'll be getting a refund and sticking with ambernic handhelds in the future.

Idk why and how, but in Ukraine, on a local online marketplace you can easily buy any of these pocket consoles including the Miyoo mini and plus model, you can even get any color you want. I got the original one for 65$ in conversion and received it the next day

If they actually have official store in my country I would buy this but they don't and Anbernic has. With Miyoo Mini Plus' current price in my country I would just rather buy an Anbernic 351P (but I already have that) or the Anbernic 353VS the prices are that close to those devices which has way better specs than the Mini Plus. I would also buy Retroid but they also don't have an official store in my country which makes the price of the devices more than 2 times it's MSRP.
