When you drag your body through puddles of blood, you should leave big streaks on the ground for a while, that persist until the end of the level. Also, you have the right idea at 1:14 , a good sequel is something that takes the mechanics of the first game and expands or adds onto them in a satisfying way. Maybe now that you have some decent scratch (hopefully) from the first game, you could hire on some help with stuff you find hard or time consuming to do yourself, maybe a good sound effects artist or music maker? I find that's what can really set the mood of a game for me, is good music and sound design. Another idea, maybe you could have a segment where you need to tie something heavy to you and drag it somewhere? It would be a good way to utilize the concept of only having one arm in a more horror-ish way, being slower than the monsters could make the whole section incredibly tense.

One of my favorite parts about Endoparasitic 1 is how you are the only one crawling, everyone else walks or runs and that is pretty terrifying. @silverdededestruction21974 ай бұрын
@zaper2904 I imagine the parasite would have wanted more control over their host, so they chose the secretary who was weaker willed with mild delusions. It made sense on paper, it also made sense on paper to not choose our MC who was far more in control of his own will, and while delusional, would have wanted to dominate over the parasite instead. All of it made so much sense on paper. But the Parasite made a fatal error from this base judgement. A man who is too stubborn to die, a man who literally lost all three of his limbs, manages to best every single parasite mutant. With a grudge burnt into his skin, the parasite should have made him their host if they wanted to stay alive I honestly don't care if the MC becomes hyper evil, as long as it ends with him dominating the parasite and having it completely under his control, that's a well earned ending in my books. If you want the crafting system to be a little more different and interactive, you could make it so that you need to put the items together in the backpack itself. You could even make it so that you have to do drags, drops, shakes, and clicks as a part of an assembly process specific to the item you're crafting. For example if you drag nitroglycerine to an adreniline vial a drag thingy could appear at the end of the vial, untwisting the back when followed. You could then untwist the nitroglycerine bottle, drag it to the end of the vial to add, skrew it back on, and shake the vial to mix. Think like of something like the circles in OSU that tell you to click and drag. A crafting system like this would be pretty high effort but also very immersive and cool.

Heya, a couple suggestions: - I love the "drag the syringe to the parasite to heal" idea, but it sounds very easy to trigger accidently, which would be extremely frustrating. A way to fix it would be making it that after dragging the syringe to the parasite, you need to click the "lever" thingie at it's side (with a highlight to make it obvious that it's interactable) to actually apply or, so you can choose to grab the syringe body and drag it away if you don't actually intend on using it (maybe clicking and doing a downwards movement on the lever would be even better) - For the puzzles, I love the idea, but I believe you should indeed have the option to disable them. Better yet would be having 3 options: "all puzzles", "simplified puzzles", and "no puzzles", but that's much more work ofc, so maybe just "on/off puzzles" would be more time efficient

For the shotgun, when you extend the tube to fit more shells, you have to extend the actual barrel which will in turn make the shotgun more accurate. I have a couple of ideas for the gunplay in the game: - At 6:27 the slide locks back after pulling the trigger, to make it more realistic, the slide would need to lock back immediately after the last round is fired. - At 6:00 Instead of loading the pistol through the top, it would be more realistic to load a detachable magazine by hand. This would also allow for in the future a possible upgrade for an additional magazine. The main problem with the pistol currently, is that it does not have the realistic space to chamber a round, since it is designed to be top loaded. That's all for now, if anyone reading let me know if there's any other ideas / advice.

I actually think that a regular magazine would be fine for the handgun. Just make right-click or middle-mouse the eject button, where the magazine drops to the ground. You could quickly reload it from your bag, but you'll have to spend time to get your dropped magazine back. This is also easily upgradeable, as you could just put a rare gun somewhere and click on it to dispense the magazine, giving you an extra one. Incorporating the magazine loading would be fun, requiring you to hold it instead of a gun and slowly load it. It'd be pretty reminiscent of the panic-loading from the first game, but be powerful enough that one would justifiably put down a revolver in exchange for it.

Idea: on the ship there could be a cybernetics bay where the player could get a robotic arm, however the machine had run out of anesthesia so to get it installed would be a long and painful process that would attract enemies. If you get the robotic arm installed you could do more things like move faster, reload without having to open the backpack, and fire the shotgun faster
@waffler-yz3gw3 ай бұрын
i get where you're coming from but i dont think this is a good idea
@strcmdrbookwyrm3 ай бұрын
@@waffler-yz3gw I think it's a good idea, as long as it doesn't give you another hand. Having just the upper arm could translate to boost in movement speed and/or carrying capacity, both of which which would be useful but wouldn't break the flow of the game. It could be explained by the machine only having an upper arm available and/or the character has suffered too much nerve damage for anything more to work. If you did get the whole arm, I think it could work as a sort of hook for interacting with the environment. Because you can only control the upper arm, you have to drag the other hand by the wrist to make it grab something. Then you can tug objects around while still moving like normal with your other arm. Basically, I think it can work as long as it doesn't give you another hand to use. This game is built around you having only one hand to perform actions. As long as the arm doesn't streamline things too much, I think it could be a fun addition.

You could try to make the map non linear like Prey, where you can explore different parts of the ship at your own pace with some backtracking, main emphasis being on exploring, and how the entire ship progressively gets more and more infested with enemies the more you progress through the story, even areas you've already been in.

For the puzzles, have you considered introducing the different puzzles by having the first few be very easy, and then increase the difficulty? Similarly to how The Witness does it, where it is much easier to solve the most complicated puzzles once you've solved simpler ones, simply because the simpler ones introduce the different puzzle elements in a way that is easier to figure out.

Man, the main character is bad ass going through all of that things he had gone through in the first game and still keeping strong in the second.

Make a "realism mode" where you arm behave like a real one, I find funny how on game 1 you can go "weeee" when grapping on the floor and move the mouse like crazy

Oooohhhhh!! Very happy to see an indie series get a sequel and expand a universe. Gives me a lot of hope. Not enough indie games that I like do that, and I really want to keep up with a world, if I like it.

You should add a feature where if the pistol runs out of ammo, you have to right click on an object to click the top back (I forgot the name). This adds a choice when you have one bullet left. Reload, and risk a zombie catching you while you do so, or shoot the bullet, and risk encountering a zombie with no gun.

idea you need food to eat to survive maybe cooking parasites or eating them raw is an option and since your character has been with the parasite for 3 months your body has adapted to it so you will have more health and in exchange you become slower every 10 body drags because malnurish character
@AliksStuff4 ай бұрын
BET. I think that the health bar on MAIN MANS back should be more like the health from dead space, just because it looks weird to just have a whole in his back on his back. Maybe he slaps it on his back to try to stop the parasite but it doesn't work? idk

Excited for this project! A little feedback, in the health/item screen, having the parasite pulsate would be great! More so, when injecting healing audible pain grunts and heavy shake/pulsing for a moment would up the body horror! And finally, you can make a healing system where you can have three different craftable healing: - Normal healing: heals, but cause you to shake for a while after injecting. - Big healing: Same as above, just more healing. - Morphine healing: As normal heal, but reduce shakes after injecting.
@wesleysebree37703 ай бұрын
also for the morphine healing if you take to much you will be addicted and that can slow you down or slowly make your hand move to inject the morphine.

Oh man. This looks absolutely wicked from all angles - your vision for improving the game while staying true to its stylish elements is incredible. That shotgun looks badass. I love the detail of the danger pharmaceuticals - nitroglycerin is something a friend of mine takes, so i was aware of it - and it's just neat that the main character has adapted his intelligence to crafting a bunch of homemade munitions. Hell yeah.

I know he's malnourished and all that, but I feel certain muscles would still be MASSIVE since he's using nothing but his arm for locomotion Edit: comments have some good points to why not actually

But if he's not only missing limbs but also malnourished then he weighs less and has less to drag on the ground.

I really hope the bottomless floor level at 5:04 has a part where it forces you to move objects out of the way using your hand to move forward, and when the objects fall off, you will see them slowly fall down before disappearing into the darkness and making a loud noise. Hope he does this in some way cause it would really convey that the bridge is very high up, and making a wrong move would result in falling to your death. Also because It triggers the Fear of Heights
